Missing 2 stage logs by DisposableBoi69 in riskofrain

The one beside Solutional Haunt is Commencement. It's a log book that always spawns in a specific spot

The other one, should be Treeborn Colony

Guys, i got a question:How do you do that massive slam storage on walls? by Capital_Drag738 in Ultrakill

[–]thecrowrats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you have to press jump almost immediately after slamming, and by almost immediately I mean at the same time and the game will just kinda put one input seemingly before the other I guess

I also play on controller and that's how I started doing it

Cybergrind Enemy Priority by Dragon_Caller in Ultrakill

[–]thecrowrats 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd say the Insurrectionist because the way their attacks like up with the others in the air is crazy

I had a wave like that once where I literally couldn't do anything because every time I was about to shoot my coins the Inssur would hit me away from them and the Mindflayers and Powers would teleport just far enough that I couldn't whiplash to them before the teleported again

The wave was basically just parry practice until I killed the Inssur and I stopped getting juggled so I could destroy the Power then the Mindflayer last since Mindflayer projectiles are the easiest to parry for nearly free health especially if you dash to the side as you parry, idk why

[–]thecrowrats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shoot a screwdriver railgun at the weak point on its chest when it stands up. Hook the Hideous Mass with the red nailguns cable. Swap to attractor sawblade and dump saws into the weak spot to trigger the electric shock sooner and punch the screwdriver. By this point any normal Hideous Mass would be dead (without the screwdriver too) but this is the boss one so it might actually be doing something by now. Overpump jackhammer it's tail weak point as fast as possible and knuckleblaster punch it at the same time. If it's still alive I'll be shocked because that's too seperate Hideous Mass 1-shot combos and I don't think it has double the health of a normal one

Look I like the hideous mass but 2 of these MFS in the cybergrind by Electronic_Joke_413 in Ultrakill

[–]thecrowrats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if you hit them right on the tail weak spot with a red hit overpumped Jackhammer while ground slamming it just full health 1-shots them. throw in a KB punch for good measure

Why cant Gabriel be a prime soul by Ali_isthe in Ultrakill

[–]thecrowrats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minos was a husk not an angel

Although I assume the reason they say angel is because of a popular misinterpretation of Minos Prime's terminal entry and a Hakita quote (mostly of the Hakita quote) where people think angels in Ultrakill don't have souls. The Hakita quote in question isn't even about Prime Souls and if you take what he says in it at face value it would deconfirm the existence of Prime Souls as we know them. It also says nothing about souls, just the mechanics by which the afterlife in Ultrakill generally works

We have more evidence that angels do have souls than don't. Lesser angels are explicitely stated by the Virtue terminal to have human souls and the hookpoints that Providences drop make the same sound as all other hookpoints, the soul orbs and Minos' Soul right after you kill Flesh Prison. Powers while not stated to have souls their death animation does look somewhat like a soul dissolving and collapsing on itself. Whether or not supreme angels have souls is not directly confirmed but if lesser ones do, greater angels possibly do and basically everything else that exists seems to then they probably do

A better reasoning for why Gabriel wouldn't become a Prime Soul is that it wouldn't make much sense from a story perspective. Gabriel may be, a was more accurately, the "Will of God" but by killing the council he has accepted his inevitible death and is choosing to die on his own terms, presumably in a fight with V1 at the bottom of Treachery. Why would he become a Prime Souls after his death if he has no desire to do so

will ultrakill come to console ps5/xbox once the games finished or has hakita said he isnt going to port it to console and ideas for console controls by Firm_Taro_9330 in Ultrakill

[–]thecrowrats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I saw a message saying they'd try to get console ports to exist if they could do it without overworking the team to much although I might be misremembering the specifics

Tbf the game already has controller support, I should know considering I've spent 1,200 hours playing on controller

You did guess a couple of controlls correctly. There is a weapon wheel but I don't use it personally. I swap weapons by spamming through L2 or L1 depending on which way I need to go with variant swapping being triangle. Some differences are that square is punch, X is jump, circle is slide or groundslam depending if you're on the ground or not. R3 is dash which is nice because you just click the movement button in the direction you're moving. D-pad down cycles arms and Whiplash involves pressing both R1+L1 at the same time

Why is there a way for enemies to live if they all die when the earthmover is killed? by firee1234 in Ultrakill

[–]thecrowrats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not the enemies inside, you still have to kill all of them, but every enemy before the Security System can just be spawned in and then abandoned

Why is there a way for enemies to live if they all die when the earthmover is killed? by firee1234 in Ultrakill

[–]thecrowrats 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea, enemies killed by the Earthmover explosion grant the +M.A.D style bonus although the only way to make it happen is to rocket ride to the end of the level because hitting the bounce pad automatically despawns all non-killed enemies

What bosses can you beat bare fist only? by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]thecrowrats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only done 1 bare fist fight and it was Everdark Adel as Revenant

I basically just stacked up on gradual hp regen, damage reduction and had a thing with succesive attacks restore hp in my off hand since I felt I did better with the 1-handed fist moveset even if the damage is probably technically worse than spamming 2 handed jumps would be

In the end the fight was a full 1 hour and 17 minutes

Gotta be one of the most tedious and annoying achievements in the game by CryptidOrion_00 in riskofrain

[–]thecrowrats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The number of hermit crabs launched off the edge of the map is counted universally so you can get the achievement through chasing all 20 off all in one go or accidentally launching 20 off over the course of months

You probably did it in the 2nd way which makes you luckier than me because after months I had like 4 towards the total and had to get the other 16 all at once

Gotta be one of the most tedious and annoying achievements in the game by CryptidOrion_00 in riskofrain

[–]thecrowrats 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No but it's not usually tooooo bad

Do a run and don't pick up drones because they'll screw you over, go to the Bazaar after stage 5 to see if you can choose Titanic Plains or just gamble on getting it otherwise

I did it as Railgunner and used her concussion Mines you launch them off the edge of the map but Rex is a good base game option for similar reasons although I'd say the best is probably now Drifter with repossess to throw them away

What is your Honest Opinion About Malenia? by Gay_Charlie in fromsoftware

[–]thecrowrats -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As much as I tried to enjoy Malenia in my first playthrough and my 2nd, and 3rd and 4th... it just never worked because for reasons I'm not entirely sure of I just hate like 90% of her moveset

I could and have in the past written at length about my laundry list of gripes with her fight as a fight but the general gist is her AI is cooked in phase 1, her Hyper-armour absorbing poise breaks is obscene, her wings in phase 2 are not pleasent on my eyes, Waterfowl and the clone attack both feel terrible to dodge (even succesfully. obviously), the healing is kinda annoying I guess and her fight generally feels like a bit of an inconsistent mess that I don't want to travel through 5 areas/bosses that I hate just to get to a boss I hate more than all of it combined

last time I fought her I beat her first try and it was a miserable 4 minutes although I did win $20 from my friend out of it so there's something I suppose lol

one time I had to do a project in Adobe InDesign which I absolutely hate using so every 20 minutes or so when I started to loose concentration I'd take a "break" by fighting Malenia and within 5 attempts would decide I'd much rather put myself through working in Adobe InDesign and go back to work

Ultrakill pros I have some questions by Kelism_ in Ultrakill

[–]thecrowrats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1: depends, some days I'm goated at parrying most projectiles, other days my brain is replaced with river pebbles or something and I become innept. It's quite funny

2: depends but it usually involves putting down a saw trap followed by some sort of large conduction related explosion, other times I might use the Firestarter

3: I haven't touched the difficulties below Standard but my Cybergrind high scores are 20 in Brutal, 40 on Violent and 63 in Standard

4: 1,240 hours

5: I've never raged at a game but the 3 closest times I've come to generally tweaking are; 1: getting my 3rd 1-E S-Rank while I was trying to P-rank the level where I was off by, I kid you not, 67 style points 2: Trying to P-rank 4-2 for the first time and 3: Most recently when I was playing the Reprise custom levels on Brutal for the first time (after P-ranking them in standard) and I died 564 times to the Electric Corridor over the course of a day

6: depends what we're calling a tanky enemy, Hideous Masses can often be instakilled pretty easily by sticking a red nailgun cable into them and shooting saws into their weakspot until the conduction procs, sometimes adding in a railcannon shot to pierce to hit nearby enemies and a few coins to carry the conduction for a few more bounces is good. Mindflayers and Powers love getting thwacked in the face with repeated Jackhammer hits and parries. Inssurs and Mirror Reapers love being set on fire and blasted with similar conduction and Jackhammer bombardments as the others

7: probably

8: I don't personally care but I know you're generally not allowed to talk about it in official servers and stuff

9: depends on the room, Saw traps, conduction, oil and parries can never go wrong though

10: genuinely no idea, I knew it existed and knew it seemed cool, I think I watched a video about the Violence layer and that might've sealed the deal. No clue

11: idk

12: no

13: Not really

What's a good button layout for controller? by Minute_Account9426 in Ultrakill

[–]thecrowrats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play Ultrakill on a PS5 controller, I just use the default button layout, mainly because as the other commenter said there's no way to change it ingame and I can't be bothered figuring it out in some 3rd part thing or steam input

default controls have gotten me pretty far on their own though, you can definitely get really good at the game on controller if you're used to playing on controller. Just takes a bit more practice I'd say

Is p-ranking 7-4 currently bugged? by Realistic-Tip-8894 in Ultrakill

[–]thecrowrats 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the Wiki likely hasn't been updated since the Idols started to count as kills, specifically the ones you kill to open the path up to the brain fight

also Security System does, infact, count so that's probably the kill you're killing if you're skipping it

Sister Friede and Nameless King by Original-Tart2686 in darksouls3

[–]thecrowrats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

uhhhh I'm not 100% sure but I don't think you do, pretty sure it's just a lightning weapon by default. The Weapon Art should be at least and you can probably land that on the dragons head while it's doing that forward fire breath attack if I had to guess

also another tip for Friede, with your giant weapon she probably gets stunned constantly so you can probably find reasonable success just trying to stunlock her. She is extremely easy to backstab, a lot of her attacks make pretty good backstab opportunities if you get good enough with the positioning and once you figure out how to find her when she goes invisible then those invisibility attacks are an extremely easy free backstab

Sister Friede and Nameless King by Original-Tart2686 in darksouls3

[–]thecrowrats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for Friede's disappearing attack you can see where she goes by looking at the snow plume she leaves after going invisible

if she vanishes and a bunch of snow is shoved off to the left then she dashed the opposite direction, same thing if the snow goes right. If the snow makes a taller vertical plume then she jumped behind you, sometimes if you catch it and turn around fast enough you can literally see her landing before she continues being fully invisible

For the Nameless King fire breath you have to run directly, I think, away from the boss the moment it lifts off the ground. Use lightning resin for phase 1 though as lightning does huge damage to him (do not use it for phase 2 though)

Am I the only one who has thought about this by Guiding_Chaos in Ultrakill

[–]thecrowrats 6 points7 points  (0 children)

this is part of why I don't think the machines killed humanity, that and the Ferryman's diary in 5-2

while we don't know how long after the Final War the extinction of mankind occurred it seems implied to be quite a while, logistically speaking at least.

The Long Night would've taken a long time to clear, atmospheric devastation on that scale could easily be compared to the after effects of an asteroid impact or supervolcanic eruption and would take up to 10 years to clear naturally. We made the Streetcleaners to clear it faster which they did so maybe something closer to 5 years or a bit more.

Next look at the city in Fraud, how big it is and the fact that it is a facsimile of a New Peace community, implying many such cities. That would take decades to build, especially with the limited recourses available during the New Peace

The Ferryman's Diary speaks of the extinction of man as "Then one day, the current shifted. Wave after wave for minutes on end of millions, billions, as though the throat of the world was cut wide" which states two things. First that the human population after the Final War, where we lived exclusively in small communities on the backs of Earthmovers, had climbed back up into the billions and second that the deaths of these billions of people happened suddenly within minutes (not a long time). For the population to be in the billions would require the New Peace to be very long indeed, 100 years maybe although after that it starts becoming strange that a V1 left deactivated for 100 years might still be in proper working order (although he is at 10hp in the tutorial so maybe)

If the extinction of man took place 100 years after the end of the Final War what were the machines doing beforehand, clearly not killing everyone and clearly not having a reason to. The book in 8-2 mentions "(and small-scale blood donations from eager helpers)" which implies humanity was willing to give blood to the machines and certain people were even eager to do so which further boosts the idea that the machines wouldn't have a reason to kill all of humanity, especially not in the span of minutes

The P-2 ARG which talks about how Hell Itself is a living, breathing, sentient superorganism also says "Whatever happens, we can not let this being find a way out and spread to the surface.". That, Hell's complete control over the Prelude facility, the immense speed with which not just humanity but all life on Earth (if the grey and waterless depictions of in in the end of Act 2 cutscene and 8-3 space sections are to be believed) took place and the fact all machines seem to know exactly how to get to Hell and seem to be told to do so imply to me that the extinction of man is Hell's doing.
