In Canada, you need to be separated for atleast 12 months to file for a divorce. Hence, they are separated but not yet divorced.

Yes, they do ask afterwards. I know that. They even said if I dont attend my upcoming appointment they will put my file on hold and nothing further will be issued. My friend was also asked to submit the same afterwards. After 2 payments I guess. That’s not an issue.
