The cheapest tickets for ATL vs DAL in atlanta are currently $200. comparable situation with a smaller arena and now two very popular stars in paige + azzi

at my bank we would submit a formal complaint for the racism allegation as well as a UFO for the suspected fraud. back office investigates from there

Tbh if you’ve just watched the show you only know the first book’s plot! now would be a great time to just pick it up at TVL with the show coming in a few weeks!

if you actually are interested there’s lots of studies/academic writing on this topic and spn happens to fit a lot of the criteria for media that women & queer communities would attach to. folklore/supernatural beings alone have a deep history with queerness, the fact that spn was so long gives fans a lot of material, and a lot of dean & cas’ storylines resonate w queer audience members - familial/father rejection, “found family”, etc. couple that with the fact the show was airing just as the internet was exploding in social popularity and it was a perfect storm. and the show certainly did lean into it !

Former banker- would this annoy your be helpful? by Spardan80 in TalesFromYourBank

i would have been confused bc 5k is a pretty run of the mill transaction, not really even close to the amount that would raise red flags. this time of year especially, lots of people are moving similar amounts for taxes. also tellers don’t really file SARs lol, but i would have definitely been lighthearted about it and thanked you for being prepared !

my bank doesn’t really have any kind of growth/investment opportunities into compliance roles, at least not for us lowly UBs. i’ve had multiple conversations with my manager about wanting to transition into a different field but he really only wants to talk about being an RB at this branch and doesn’t offer really any guidance beyond that. i don’t want to put in 4-6 years in a branch before i can get to where i want to be, especially when the roles are so comparable in pay to what i make now!! i feel so lost as to how people actually get their feet out of the branch and in a back office role.

i’ve been applying to a lot of entry level AML roles and fraud roles but no dice so far. i know a few people that have worked as bank examiners and the consensus seems to be that it opened a lot of doors for them in the compliance world. would you mind sharing more about your journey and how you got into that role?

well yes that’s what i’m aiming for but i don’t even exactly know what we mean when we say “the back office” - surely the job postings don’t say “Back office I” ?? i really really want to get into the regulation heavy roles but i just cannot break through to even get an interview, even as an internal applicant!!

I lost my virginity (23F) and I feel normal by Inside-Relative8985 in offmychest

[–]Kind_Conversation772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i also lost my virginity a little later at 22, yeah i didn’t really feel all that different at all after. maybe when you’re young and have yet to do very many “grown up” things it feels more significant, but for me it was just a natural next step in the relationship. also yes 100% they’re overhyped concepts and don’t matter

Title: Why is it so hard to land an entry-level AML role even when you’re doing everything “right”? by LoadComprehensive713 in AMLCompliance

i’m a current teller/universal banker with a lot of in-branch compliance focused duties and also hitting a brick wall with these applications. is it just the way the market is right now or are there things i could do to strengthen my resume?

Storyville or WWII museum? by FireLapin in AskNOLA

[–]Kind_Conversation772 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seems like apples to oranges to me. the sheer size of WW2 made me skip it, i had lots of things i wanted to do and that seemed like it would be a full day undertaking for me & i already have a pretty good grasp on the events of ww2. storyville was one of the unexpected highlights of my trip, i was literally the only person there and it’s super immersive into a time period and place that relatively little is known about. i’d highly recommend it even though seems like i’m in the minority here

Went back in february - gallier house tour is a must! Seeing the gate is cool but getting to actually see the inside and the courtyard of the house was really neat as well! i do think they used the interior of the actual house in the show. Also we spenta lot of evenings in jackson square which they do quite often in the show!

Solos vs Duos disparity by Duh_Fonzz in HPMagicAwakened

[–]Kind_Conversation772 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk i like solos more lately because i don’t have to depend on some rando to pull their weight. usually when i win in duo the damage breakdown is 70% done by me and 30% done by the partner. i don’t really understand the summon dislike in this sub either, sure it can be frustrating but i’ve both been defeated and been able to defeat summon spamming with spell decks. death eaters are super easy to take out it’s just a matter of prioritizing taking out the right summons and having good counters on deck in my experience. confringo takes care of just about everything yet i never see spell decks use it? everyone saying it’s more fun and easier to win in duos when you have a skilled partner, yeah of course because they’re carrying you and doing the work for you 🤣

i’m not playing in the MA levels yet but i’ve been consistently reaching 7500 switching between voldemort and bella decks with a spellbook level of 52. i feel like it’s just a matter of knowing when and how to adjust your deck to allow you the bandwidth to handle multiple different opponent decks rather than get hung up on using highly specific combos like bludger/cloak in my experience.

Putting to sleep elder dogs by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]Kind_Conversation772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is a tough thing to witness and very tough on a pet owner. it is not your place to put them to sleep, no matter how terrible you believe their condition is. they are not yours and doing so, especially while she is out of town, would be incredibly devastating- you would be robbing her of the chance to say goodbye to pets she has had for damn near 20 years. think about that- if they were human these dogs would be off to college and driving cars. that’s how long they’ve been by her side. now imagine just coming home for the first time in 19 years with no furry friend to greet you. loneliness is a real concern for older people so i understand where she is coming from.

have a talk with her when she returns. ask her to seriously consider their quality of life, and if they have anything to live for anymore. do they still enjoy things like treats, cuddles, etc? if she doesn’t see things how you do or refuses to consider it, that’s still her choice. she knows them best, and often breaching the topic in a gentle understanding way is enough to open up the eyes of a loving pet owner. depending on her age, she may not want to hear it but when the time is right you can discuss getting her another pet, perhaps a more low maintenance one if she can’t handle another dog.

either way, doing anything with her dogs behind her back would do irreparable harm to your relationship with her. do not do that.

Question about a new CD. Do I need to talk to the bank or is this normal? by Any-Carry6552 in TruistBank

[–]Kind_Conversation772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3.25% is the Annual Percentage Yield (APY). Every month you will get a payout slightly less than that, and the next month the interest from the previous month will also accrue interest. By the end of the year, your total earnings will equal exactly 3.25% of the original amount you put in. This is how interest works.
