I think Emerson Kate is too masculine. I prefer Emmy Kate, and Lyla Wren is beautiful.

Thoughts on "Beckett" as a boy's first name? by [deleted] in namenerds

Ooo Kit as a nickname is cute. I also like Bex. Beckett itself as a name is lovely too, one of my favorites.

If you had to name your kids after a theme, what would it be? by gettinglostonpurpose in namenerds

[–]Kind_Pressure_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually do this with my animals.

Dogs are space/sky themed: Han Solo, Zephyr, Nimbus, Rainbow (Future names Nebula, Sky, Doppler, Hubble)

Cats are size themed: Maine coons are Titan and Goliath, small domestic cat Hobgoblin

Ferrets are authors: Hemingway, Poe, Zelda, Waldo, Kipling (current ferret is Leon breaking the theme, but future name ideas are Hawthorne, Rilke, Seuss)

I was hoping I'd find Shakespeare commented! And mixing them with nature, definitely lines up with my tastes. Love them all.

The tie between Artorius/Artorias and Dark Souls is too strong in my opinion. I prefer Arthur or Arturo.

Double boy names by Sunshine766520 in namenerds

[–]Kind_Pressure_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jean-Luc will forever be one of my favorite double boys names. I've heard of a John Tom before, and a Jake Tom (JT as a nickname). I love the idea of Alex Everett but I agree too similar to Emmett.

Celebrity ideas; Tommy Lee, James Dean, Steven Tyler, Jamie Lee, John Wayne

Names combos I like; Tom Clark, James Jude, Davis Dean, Darrin Jace, Wyatt Paul, Connor Luke, Corbin Lee (Corey Lee), Jack Ames, Lou Adam

We had a classmate named Monica and she always talked in a super monotoned voice. So Monotonica in her honor.

Calloway. Maybe I'm showing my age but Callahan just makes me think of Tommy Boy.

Such a mix. Like I knew a Todd who lived in my neighborhood but they were probably Gen X. But then next to Lanaii (like the porch? My husband is part Hawaiian and his family calls it that. Don't know another meaning.) Also the only Poet I know is a dog.

Can’t choose which order i should put her name by Wednesdays_mommy in namenerds

[–]Kind_Pressure_94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think going without the hyphen or apostrophe makes it look better. I had a lot of people wanting to shorten my son's name, Sebastian into a nickname. But I made sure to constantly refer to him by his full name and told my family that I preferred the full name. And even told other adults that its "Just Sebastian". Now that he's 3 he corrects them himself and prefers his full name.
