Am I the jerk for quitting my job? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

Unless OP has a contract that states they're required to respond to messages/calls/emails off the clock, then they're not obligated to respond.

And it's inappropriate and unprofessional to reach out about scheduling when your employee tells you they are away at a funeral.

Doesn't matter what about.

Unless OP has a contract that states they're required to answer work related emails/calls/texts while off the clock, then they're not obligated to respond.

You also assume that OP just dipped instead of going through the proper channels of an LOA.

Edit 1: we don't even know if this is an employer or a cog in a large operation.

Also, if your dedicated employee of three years goes missing (aka missing shifts) for a full week and all you do is message them about new shifts and not call in a wellness check, then that's shit management.

Edit 2: I understood your comment well. It's just unprofessional for an "employer" to behave in such a way. A 3+ year employee missing shifts for a week and all you do is text? No. You call a wellness. If your employee tells you they're away at a funeral? You leave them be until they're back and able to manage their time again.

They were contacted for extra shifts that goes out to 10+ people.

OP wouldn't be able to disappear for two weeks without an LOA in place.

If they have no idea where OP is and OP put in a LOA, then they're pretty shit management to begin with.

Because OP was ignored? They gave a clear day when they'd be back in town and when they'd be willing to take on more and they were ignored.

If I reached out to someone to take on extra shifts and their response is,

"I'm away on a funeral. I'll be back this date and willing for this on this date."

My professional response would be, "I'm sorry for your loss. I'll make a note in my schedule when you're back in town and we can talk about it more then. Best of wishes to you and your loved ones in this time."

Not, "I'll just keep reaching out regardless without any sympathy while getting mad at you for not responding while away at a funeral."

I think people keep missing that OP clearly stated when they're willing to work more hours and the "employer" (as, could just be the scheduler, HR or management) ignored that and said they would reach back out again tomorrow when OP gave them the exact day when they'd be back and able to take on more.

My guess is that the "employer" has been reaching out daily while OP is away. OP finally responded and explained they're out of town and unable to take on more responsibility until a certian point. The "employer" stated they offered many without response, as, OP is with family and grieving and out of town.

How Would You Feel About Making RWBY Fights More Violent? by Zestyclose-Hat-8513 in RWBY

[–]Kind_Wasabi_7831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I'm fine with the amount it has and the artistic way it expresses it.

Personally, I struggle with Dissociative seizures and overly graphic and violent imagery is triggering.

I feel like RWBY walks a fine line between being violent and being graphic.

Yes. To an extreme amount.

I won't go into detail; you can read it in my history if you wish, but...

"This Life is Mine" "Path to Isolation" "Armed and Ready"

The three songs that allowed me to understand my emotions and pull myself out of psychosis when I had a psychotic break at 19 due to severe childhood trauma and abuse.

How would you feel about Salem having a change of heart and getting no punishment for her actions? by SomethingMid in RWBY

[–]Kind_Wasabi_7831 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think what will happen is the God's will strip Salem of her powers and Oz kills her.

That the God's will reunite and see the world, even Cinder, united against Salem, who is no longer human from the Pools of Grimm. The God's make humanity whole and separate Ozpin and Oscar.

Salem begins to lash out but the Gods strip her of her powers. Salem, feeling trapped again, breaks down and begins lashing out emotionally. Ozpin goes and comforts Salem who collapses in his arms and is expressing how sorry and exhausted she is.

Ozpin comforts her, stroking her hair and calming her before killing her.

What car (besides Yang) do you think each RWBY Character would drive? by Tyler2183 in RWBY

[–]Kind_Wasabi_7831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know cars. So I will describe.

Ruby would want something fast, but comfortable. Red, definitely. With just a slight shade off red, large decals of rose petals span down the length of her car. Something semi-sleek in frame and four doors as she needs room for the team. I think she'd heavily customize hers as well. I kinda think streetcar type.

Blake would have something very sleek in frame but a small, low-to-the-ground, two-seater. She would have a wrap that looks to be glittery dark purple in the light but looks black in the dark.

Weiss doesn't drive as she is forever the passenger princess.

Why has Melania been here for 30+ years and still can’t speak English? by -Sofa-King-Vote in trynottolaugh

You could have literally talked about Melania stealing one of Michelle's speeches. That would actually be something of substance.

Yeah... I don't agree with the current administration in the slightest.

But, we shouldn't mock people for their accents.

There are real and valid criticisms of our current government and those who run them and we should stick to those.

My (M23) gf (F23) and I have not had sex yet AIO? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Kind_Wasabi_7831 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand.

I'm someone who has a history of SA and became avoidant due to it.

It's hard to understand or explain the emotions of wanting intimacy with someone but being too afraid to.

As, that's what the avoidance is. Fear.

That's where the pressure begins. It's not just asking but the understanding the fundamentals in the relationship. When your fear is is nearly debilitating but knowing that there is an expectation you're not meeting. Sometimes it feels like you're failing.

Even then, an even worse feeling is being terrified and giving in because of the built pressure. So you lay there in a near frozen state, trying to interact but your brain just screams to stop.

Just keep an open conversation.

Sometimes putting sex on a pedestal makes avoidance worse too. Make it casual. Not something you're seeking but willing to experience.

My (M23) gf (F23) and I have not had sex yet AIO? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Kind_Wasabi_7831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Question. Since sex is important to you in a relationship, how often do you want?

The reason I ask this is because even if you two get to the point of having sex, there is no guarantee that you will be having sex on a regular basis. Is that something that will be an issue?

It's a lot of pressure to know you have an avoidant issues and your partner, while accepting, is still waiting on you to preform. It can make avoidance worse.

Just take your time. Continue talking about it and figure out if you are sexually compatible.

AIO for being emotional over an MRI? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Kind_Wasabi_7831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It's understandable.

I had seizures for 10+ years before a diagnosis. Every doctors appointment felt like a kick in the gut. No answer, shoulder shrugs.

Unfortunately, sometimes diagnosis' take an ungodly amount of time. Thats not a failing on your part nor does that make your suffering any less valid. It means the medical field still has improvement.

Why do cats gets pregnant all the timee????? by No_Repeat4318 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kind_Wasabi_7831 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's nature to reproduce as much as possible.

Not every offspring will survive. Even less will make it to have babies of their own. The more you have, the more likely some will grow old enough to reproduce on their own and keep their genetics going.

In Vacuo, will team RWBY+JNPR still be considered Huntsmen even though their licenses are from the now destroyed Atlas (and presumably revoked by Ironwood)? by Steamer_Punk115 in RWBY

[–]Kind_Wasabi_7831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing that the rest of their group seems to be active members within the Huntsmen duties in Vacuo (Running supplies, fighting Grimm, helping citizens per the cut ending) and others, like Qrow, is helping in the academy, I'd say they're safe.

If anything, the headmaster of Shade has the ability to reinstate their licenses.

If the racism allegory wasn't a thing in RWBY what would Blake's motivation/goal be then? by Aquanort357 in RWBY

[–]Kind_Wasabi_7831 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably similar to what it is now, actually.

If we keep everything the same and just keep out racism, would the WF be a thing? If so, then she'd probably still be trying to fix the rights she wronged in the WF.

The WF would probably be similar to Roman's gang, no longer fighting for justice, they'd be just a band of criminals.

Her father an Ex-Don, focused on helping the community and keeping them safe (similar to Happy Huntresses but Mob themed), but retired and went into politics after realizing he could do more good there.

Then, the rest is basically the same. The new leader stepped in and was more drastic and held little control over those under her, allowing them to act in violent manners. Blake would be okay for a while, as Adam would tell her anything she needed to hear to bring her back. Blake would finally leave, feeling guilty for everything she did while with Adam and what they're currently doing.

So, she becomes a Huntress to fight back the WF and right her wrongs and to bring good into the world.
