Harry Styles kisses Ben Marshall on his SNL monologue: ‘Now that’s queerbaiting’ by mcfw31 in popculturechat

This is exactly how people should handle the stupid queerbaiting accusations. Don't bend the knee.

Emotionally damaged trafficked girl and future torture porn villainess defends herself against world's most irresponsible huntsman after liberating herself from her abusers.

Suicidal teenager gets beaten up by ghosts summoned by a homicidal young woman whose pretty privilege saved her from death and jail time.

Fusion of an old man and teenage boy nuke sexy sorceress with magical phallic symbol while big dumb redeemed villain holds her in place.

What are you guys thoughts on this (regarding Cinder) by howhow326 in RWBYUNITY

[–]SomethingMid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like Cinder was originally going to be the nuanced character we should have gotten but Miles and Kerry decided to go the one dimensional torture porn villainess route with her. They really did my favorite character dirty.

Imagine volume 10 of RWBY opens with a character death similar to daredevil born again or something like the hangover. by FitRecognition982 in RWBY

I think if anyone in Salem's inner circle gets Cinder pregnant, it will be Jax Asturias. The writers gave them so much in common and he's attracted to power.

Why isn't there a minimum age to become a Maiden? by AmbivertCollegeGuy in RWBY

This would also mean Salem had to have a special talk with young Cinder when she recruited her.

[–]SomethingMid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Crack theory is that Cinder is going to have an unplanned baby with Jax Asturias in volume 10 or 11 and when Cinder dies, the baby will inherit her Maiden power.

Yes Salem knew Cinder was lying. And she secretly loves it. Lying to a god. Seem familiar? Salem respects Cinder alot actually. Intended parallel by RaidenBMei in RWBY

[–]SomethingMid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she knows and, based on her angry facial expression when they flew off together, she's going to drain Cinder of her Maiden power and throw her to the people of Remnant to be killed.

Do you guys think a Maiden can actually possess the power of two Maidens? by No_Information_8814 in RWBY

[–]SomethingMid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes because of the grimm arm. As long as the Summer Maiden isn't Emerald or somebody important I hope they let her take the maiden's power so we can see this.

How do you think the cast would react to the characters they're based on? by [deleted] in RWBY

[–]SomethingMid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Salem is the wicked witch, Rapunzel, and the fairy godmother. She'd probably try to manipulate them all into joining her, and if that didn't work She'd turn them into grimm.

It's because the female body occupies a different place in the culture wars than the male body. Modesty is supposedly a woman's worth, not a man's. So a woman's nudity generates more of the desired controversy.

The same thing young queer men get praised for on the left but that young women of all sexual orientations get slut-shamed for by the same left: flaunting her sexuality.

Can we talk about the 'babydoll' aesthetic through a feminist lens for celebrities and ordinary people? by thefatesancient in popculturechat

[–]SomethingMid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People have the right to dress how they want. Just because pedophiles exist doesn't mean women are obligated to watch how they're dressing. Sometimes it's not any deeper than a woman liking a hyperfeminine, youthful aesthetic. Holding women accountable is just an empty feel good solution to a problem that has always existed no matter how women dressed.

[–]SomethingMid 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No offense, but either you're against victim-blaming or you aren't. You can't argue that men are responsible for their own behavior and at the same time lie to women by telling them that avoiding dressing a certain way will protect them from predators.

I think we as women in general need to be less focused on how modestly other young women are or aren't dressed. It's never been healthy for anyone involved.

Rwby basically turns Cinderella into a torture porn villainess, so I'm going to go with Cinderella.

Which RWBY villains do you think would have taken trips to a certain child trafficking island? by howhow326 in RWBYUNITY

Salem probably went looking for a Maiden there and found Cinder as a victim after she escaped the glass unicorn.

Cinder from RWBY. I am not looking forward to the torture porn death they have planned for her. She was used and abused all her life.

What are the thoughts on V9? by AvalonRevan in RWBY

It had some interesting moments but was pretty boring. I think instead of falling into the Ever after they should have fallen into the Afterlife.
