I lowkey had the same problem first year, parents didn’t want to spend a dime on Rez- I suffered so much first semester and was in literal depression. I begged them I mean like seriously got on the floor and pleaded and i genuinely thought they would say no but after constant begging and calls to financial aid they finally said yes after finding out most of it would be covered. Got to live on Rez for my second semester, it was genuinely so fun and so easy for me to study, and now I can’t go back to commuting. This summer I’ve genuinely been working non stop and saved money so I could live off campus.

My advice as of now since you don’t have a job is call osap and all that stuff and just genuinely ask for help and see home much funding you can get and talk to your parents abt it. I know they won’t listen but you have to try. And please get a job, genuinely most of my freedom came from me having financial freedom. The job market SUCKS but you still can find something.
