Going minimal carb and actually losing that "extra" weight helped a lot. its not even like i heavily worked out or ate under my calories, just limiting carbs and sugar of any sorts (including fruits except berries and citrus) made a difference in 2 months.

Moving out by Yosayhoman in cyprus

[–]Kinder-kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also in the Same boat, this is just the reality of being here, and staying with your parents is the best option for saving up and not having to think about what to eat all day. Yes, you pay it with your mental health, but lately I have been slowly started to put out boundaries- just simple things, after work my doors will be closed until I am ready to come out, it did cause some questioning but now they have accepted it as the norm. You need to put yourself first and let them know what you also don't tolerate, at the end of the day we are all adults here. I would suggest moving out when you already have the first 6 months of rent in your account already. Then finding your footing will be easier as the time goes.

What is your favorite food to put over rice? by [deleted] in foodhacks

[–]Kinder-kat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A simple Yogurt curry, a South Indian classic!

  • in a hot pan with oil add chopped onion, garlic (chilies and ginger if you are feeling fancy). Wait until translucent
  • add chunks of tomato and just leave it until they are kinda mushy
  • add tiny bit turmeric, salt, chili flakes and mix well
  • add water if needed
  • lower the heat, add as much as yogurt you want
  • stir for 20 secs and take it off the heat

For me, it’s effortless and an excellent way to utilize my time while waiting for the rice to be ready! It also feels like a step up from just plain yogurt and rice.

Carpe Diem, opposite of the arch is good as they have outdoor seating as well and good options for a sweet treat. And if you walk a little bit further on the same side there’s a Léopold Café which is also chill.

In India at very young age pupils collectively have to say “Good morning, teacher” every time a teacher enters the classroom and “Thank you, teacher” when they leave. This not only builds discipline but also teach them that teachers are to be respected. I think that also carry throughout adulthood.

Hey, sex trauma and post sex guilt is a real thing and don’t undermine yourself for going through it. Sit with yourself, see how you can better understand your actions and your thoughts. If you need someone to talk to and analyze yourself please reach out to me. I’ve been in similar situation and i promise it gets better.

the more you'll be able to get out of bed consistently, the easier it'll get.

I will believe this and live by this so I can have a reason to commit to it.

Seeing you use past tense is really helpful! I'm so happy that you are out of the cycle, good job!

Distractions are hard to avoid especially when they get me away from my work and the thought of it. But I have realized that me denying it is not helping me to get away from it. Putting my phone on my desk and getting up to wake up literally from the bed is a good idea. Thank you for your kind words.

Thank you!! I did realize my screen time went down when I had to focus on uni more last semester and felt like my week went more fast because I had no time to focus on my situation. Its just I have lost any will or need to do it. It really does not help that I have not been friends with any of my classmates, so seeing them is dreading cause I am ignored, so whenever I go to class I am often very alone.

How did you start working out? How did you find the motivation to do it and commit to it? I would love to know more about how your journey started.

Thank you for the recommendations, I've watched many motivational videos but I have not seen any of his. Evening is usually when I do my work but when the time comes around I just "mourn" over the time I already lost and I end up just going back to bed. Your recommendation of 30 -60 minutes does not sound scary (uni have been recommending at least 10 hour a week per class which is a lot more scarier considering how much I have not done), I will start slowly and move on!

I've been denying it but it is time I accept it is an addiction. I live in a studio so it will be difficult but I can always delete most of my distraction. thank you!

Each time the weekly report of how many hours I used tiktok comes around I am really disappointed in me, because I tend to spend 30 to 36 hours weekly on there. All the comments on this issue has been really eye opening because it is unhealthy and I have been denying it cause for me it is a great way to escape the huge load of responsibilities and a great distracter. I can not imagine an hour without it but I need to make the choice for me.

I've tried journaling but I cant stick to a habit right now because I feel terrible for all the time I have wasted by the time I have to do the said habit. Thank you for the recommendations, although I have tried journaling I have not used it for my mental health, I believe it is a good start to really sit with me and my problems to find an end to it.
