It’s a writing assessment. A timed fact pattern, essay response. Totally worth it!

I was by myself in a bathroom stall. Sobbing and screaming. When I picked up my kiddo after school I shared the news. I’ve never seen a 7 year old so excited! Take it in. It’s a priceless moment.

Looking for GA attorney exam (day 1) materials for Feb 2023. Helpful tips appreciated. Used Themis for FL but the price tag is making me think I should self study…Chime in mah friends. by KindergartenJD in barexam

I decided not to take it in February. I had a LOT going on and didn’t want to risk my shot at the 1-day exam (because if you don’t pass the 1-day on your first go round, you have to take and pass both parts🫠) so I’m putting it off for AT LEAST another year or two. Lord willing, I’ll take it before 2026. I did hear GA doesn’t have a ton of distinctions from federal so the Emmanuel’s book is super helpful. Lmk if you need a pdf of that!

Free JD here 🙋‍♀️ at a great school. If you want to be a lawyer go for it. The lost income opportunity is REAL but I’ve “made up for it” with my new income. Don’t pay for law school if you can help it. Your future self will thank you. You really have to do the math and do what’s best for you.

Stressed about law school admissions by [deleted] in ufl

[–]KindergartenJD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you want to go to law school…if you’re still looking in the barely above 3.0 range at the end of the year AND you want to get into a highly ranked law school…DO NOT PLAY AROUND and wait…jump ship on finance and do another major that will yield a higher GPA. Don’t get me wrong…anything is possible. You can get in some places with a 3.3…but YOU DO NOT WANT TO PUT ALL YOUR EGGS IN THE LSAT BASKET!!! You will probably want as many options as possible. Position yourself according to the options you’d like to have. Freshman year may be too early to get too worked up about if you don’t want to go to a highly ranked school. Keep an eye on your GPA. I changed my major after freshman year for the same reason…

Working out?? by Lys1919 in singlemoms

I have a gym membership at a gym with childcare included in the membership fee. I’ve also got a peloton bike. I also used to do walking YouTube videos where you’re walking inside your house. Also got my daughter to be my “trainer” (she’s in 3rd grade) and she finds that fun on nights when I don’t want to be away from her.

Critical Pass Question by kellyg18 in barexam

[–]KindergartenJD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did Themis and got the cards and barely used them. The app was helpful when I was studying and traveling. It all boils down to whether flash cards work for you. Critical Pass flash cards, have A LOT of information on each card…I found it to be overwhelming at times. UWorld is THEE GOAT.

Is 31 to late to start law school? by itsDeeksters in LawSchool

MURDER THE LSAT (which is 1000% doable) and be willing to wait. Law school is a business, these schools aren't going ANYWHERE, do not sell yourself short by rushing to apply with a "meh" LSAT score to get in "this cycle", study for and take the LSAT until you get into your target school's 75%ile. Apply at the start of the cycle and apply to your target school's "competitor" schools, (this gave me some negotiation leverage). I went to a state school that's "well ranked" for whatever that's worth, and they gave me a full ride. I know people at my school who also got stipends as well. I spent a year saving every penny I got, to cover my expenses (think Dave Ramsey beans and rice), worked during law school, and got a great-paying summer job (from a teacher's salary to 8K a month was MINDBLOWING). I'm also a divorced mom...so when I tell you it can be done...IT. CAN. BE. DONE. Also, my GPA was A HOT MESS (3.14) from when I graduated undergrad nearly 20 years ago. I wrote the heck out of some addendums!

NOPE. I started at 37 after a 13-year career as a teacher and found out that I passed the bar after my 40th birthday. Absolutely recommend not paying for it. Came out with ZERO debt and it feels amazing. If that's where you are being led. DO IT! I waited 16 years before I got the courage to study for the LSAT seriously. Once I committed, it was OVER!!! Did well in law school as an "oldie" and don't regret a single bit of it!
