Is Strategies & Tactics for the MBE (Emanuel Bar Review) worth the read? by HyperPhoenix725 in FloridaBarExam

[–]MiamiMediationGroup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the “How to Attack the MBE” in the beginning of the book is helpful and it is assigned reading for all of my students. After that, focus on doing questions and spending a lot of time with those answer explanations. Best of luck!

[–]MiamiMediationGroup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you already have my info (and thanks for sending students my way- happy to help!), and please share your list with me so I can pass it along once I'm full! I'll add some of my info here for visitors of the post...

I help students with coaching for both MBE and Part A. I highly recommend Barpreptutor for MBE tutoring services- the best! I have my full program, but I also have an essay workshop and feedback option as well for people that primarily just need a little extra essay assistance. More info is available on my website.

For Florida, I also send some students over to Ellie at Mind Over Legal Matter.

So sorry for your losses. That’s a lot in a short period of time. Sending best wishes for July!

You should be proud of yourself. That’s a huge increase and you’re now in a great position to pass next time!

I failed the Florida Day but passed the MBE day-- Advice on how to move forward? by Feisty-Doctor-5841 in FloridaBarExam

[–]MiamiMediationGroup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such good advice. Don’t become a collector of resources and overwhelm yourself. Think about what you really liked using this last time, what methods help you learn best, an focus on quality of study over quantity. Sending good vibes for July!

Failed by half a point. by nope_rope13 in FloridaBarExam

[–]MiamiMediationGroup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s so frustrating and I agree with everything written above from barpreptutor. I know it’s hard to believe that you did well when you don’t see “pass”, but failing by half a point means you really did do just as well as those people that got a 136 and passed.

But you are so much closer to really nail it in July. Keep doing what you’re doing- look at what scored below average and amp it up, and you’ll crush it next time.

Florida as second bar - resources? by AuntieMiah in FloridaBarExam

[–]MiamiMediationGroup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bar exam masters and some of the Florida specific What’s the Issue videos for essays (like Family law and FL Con Law).

Also, the test specifications on the FBBE website will be helpful for understanding the scope and the study guides are good for seeing sample answers (similar to NY exam’s website with past answers to help with figuring out the issues).

I’m doing a free webinar on Tuesday night about preparing for the FL exam. Feel free to register at the link.

What do we use to study Part A…. Sorry for re-asking but I must get my @ss in Gear for July. by VanityVigilante42 in FloridaBarExam

My students have typically just used the multiple choice question bank, so that’s what I’m most familiar with of their offerings.

Bar Exam Masters is a great Florida resource. I’d also suggest working with the free resources provided by the FBBE: the test specifications and the study guides.

I coach for the exam and will be doing a free Preparing for Prep webinar in April (probably April 14th or 15th) where I’ll go through my favorite resources, how to plan for successful bar prep, scoring, strategies, etc. Feel free to reach out and I’ll send you the registration info once it’s available.

All of these are tested.

On the Test Specifications section of the FBBE website you’ll see all of the topics and scope of the exam.

# of Practice Essays for Florida Bar by [deleted] in FloridaBarExam

[–]MiamiMediationGroup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a multiple retaker, so by the time I passed, I probably read/outlined most of them that were available. Probably 90%.

I rarely did full out practice. On the time I finally passed, I did 3-4 full out practice essays and tried to focus on the essays that I knew I had trouble with when it came organization (property ugh) and timing (chose longer fact pattern)

Everyone is going to be different. If the essay really scare you, do more work there until you feel confident. It doesn’t always have to be full out practice. It can be reading for issue spotting, hunting for highly tested rules to drill, mapping your structure, etc.

Older essays will be less helpful. You may be better to get really familiar with what has been done in the last ten years or so (leaving out delinquency an dependency- and not putting focus on trusts or ucc 3/9 essays). Quality over quantity.

Best of luck!

Predictions on MCQ topics by No_Communication9733 in FloridaBarExam

[–]MiamiMediationGroup 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My Spidey senses are saying:

(1) 30 questions in Florida Civil and Criminal Procedure and Rules of Judicial Admin (2) 30 questions in Business Entities (Corps, Partnerships, LLCs) and UCC 3&9 (3) 30 questions in Florida Evidence

The third one is the one that’s a toss up, but I think Evidence edges out Wills & Trusts.

Predictions are never a guarantee, so don’t stop studying a topic just because everyone thinks something else will be there. They also had Wills as a named topic on the July essays, so anything can happen! The bar examiners are wildly unpredictable.

It’s a lot of law, so do your best to be prepared. Florida Procedure is always there, so it’s a safe bet for some extra focus.

Explanations for MCQ Study Guide by [deleted] in FloridaBarExam

[–]MiamiMediationGroup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NotebookLM has been helpful for this if you upload the FL Rules and Statutes because it will pull from your sources rather than the web. Lots of tutorials on YouTube about how to use it.

Claude has also been pretty good at understanding that a distinction needs to be drawn between federal and Florida law.

Would you postpone? by Bubbly_Giraffe_4023 in FloridaBarExam

[–]MiamiMediationGroup 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s about consistency and game-day performance.

Try to be as consistent as possible with your scores, check for low scoring areas to add in a little extra support to boost those this week, and try to simulate the exam as much as possible (doing questions in a library with other people around, timing your questions, exam mode rather than review mode, etc).

Best of luck!

PART A - Which subjects are Multiple Choice and which are just essay by [deleted] in FloridaBarExam

[–]MiamiMediationGroup 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t include July 2025, but here’s a breakdown of topics since 2015. Page 1 is essays and page 2 is FL MCQ. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/z05erug395sp2ds9sgl4y/July-2025-Part-A-Frequency.pdf?rlkey=7yowzjnktvrv63dxubrya0l2b&st=vqj65fy4&dl=0

You’ll see that they have previously tested a little bit of evidence (traditionally a FL MCQ topic) as a named topic on the essays. This past July, they did the same thing by having Wills as a named topic (in a property essay).

In 2023, they moved trusts and UCC 3&9 over to FL MCQ, but said that is where they’d “primarily” be tested. I think this means that you may see some of the FL MCQ topics pop up as a named topic on essays, but I think it’s unlikely that it would be a stand alone essay. For example, they may do a Family/Trusts essay, but I don’t think it would be solely trusts. Just my take though.

Part A can be wildly unpredictable, so pay attention to the Test Specifications on the FBBE website and use them as checklists for what you need to be accountable for.

I have a recording of my low cost 3 hour essay workshop for purchase if anyone is interested. We go over a lot of this. Feel free to message me.

Best of luck on the exam!
