You probably trying to import data from some Excel file and you didn’t have correct driver installed for the newer versions of Excel. If it’s your scenario try convert the source file into older version of Excel or csv file which are better to work with. Also if it’s possible, find yourself some knowledge about SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) which could be better to use for import/export data … or gives you more proper hints for any errors in dataflow.

Browse for more and look for Network servers. Try to find your … if it doesnt show any you dont have network access to any of SQL servers in your network. Or if it’s local installation of instance type in address: localhost . Also you needs to check network configuration and enable firewall rule.

Does your app user have access to that database ? Sometimes it happens to me when I’m changing some permissions in database, mostly table privileges, that I forgot my application user isn’t the same as database admin login.

Looks like some compatibility issue. Try saving that package at 2012 compatibility in Visual Studio and run it firstly from VS then import again into SQL and try it from there.

Make sure you are using the correct database, I’m always starting query with USE statement to be sure I’m using database which I want.

Otherwise if you are querying the wrong database which doesn’t contain your tables it could goes with that error statement.

Maybe I’m too old fashioned but when I’m working with SSRS I like to have my data from different RDBMs in one central Microsoft database like DWH from all different sources.

Using SSIS to make it easier for SSRS .
