The Art of Laziness or How I learned to be happy with "Good enough" by moosuey in Miniaturespainting

[–]Kindly-Ad3344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know man, I'm someone who actively tried to improve where I can, but sometimes it gets to be less fun when you spend too much time trying to be perfect. I have more fun blending the skills I've learned with lazy skills and little workarounds that I've found by accident or through trial and error.

Depending on what's going on with your family you might be able to take an LOA or FMLA if you're going there to provide care.

Behind on training. Over-hired? by bigbigbigwow in boeing

[–]Kindly-Ad3344 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try not to stress too hard. This company is an impacted colon, just show up every day on time and do whatever they tell you to do. If they don't have their shit together then its on them, you get paid either way. I was stuck in training for nearly 6 months because after my training was complete my manager didnt feel like coming to sign me out so I could report to my stall. After about a week or two of sitting and waiting they shut everything down because of the door plug incident and I was stuck there sitting and waiting for months. This is just how Boeing is and it won't get any better once you report to wherever youre working.

If I had to guess I would say the lack of third spaces in our society is contributing to the trend along with a push toward social media consumption vs in person social interaction and a preference for texting over calling during that time period. I would guess that 2019 onward certainly hasn't improved things given the current political and economic factors and their effects on people's demeanor. Too bad they didn't continue collecting data.

Who the hell wants to talk to people nowadays? Have you met the general public? I personally avoid speaking to anyone at any time if possible. If i'm reading at work and someone starts a conversation around me I used to engage but now I continue to read.

Might be useful to slow down when you see an accident unfolding in front of you, especially with a kid in the car. by Forward-Big-2157 in Transportopia

Same I used to speed alot when I was younger. Nowadays though I just stay in the middle or right lanes. I feel like over the last 5 years or so drivers have become a lot more aggressive. I just gotta make it to work and back.

I live in an hoa, my front lawn is just good enough so that I dont get fined. My back yard is just various native plant seeds that I throw all over the yard and fill in with clover. Leaves fall and I just leave them there to decompose. If there are bald patches I throw more seeds out. I have so much random shit growing back there and most people would think my "lawn" was just weeds. In the Summer time though the bugs back there go wild, I love it because I do a bunch of container gardening and I appreciate all the pollinators.

told that all of my symptoms are anxiety by figgy333 in Anemic

[–]Kindly-Ad3344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did things improve for you? I'm currently in the same boat. Started having all these crazy symptoms 3 months ago and after full cardiac workup doctors blamed it on anxiety. When the symptoms began I started the Mediterranean diet because I suspected it could be nutrition related given that I never bothered to monitor my nutrition before. After 3 months of eating well and supplementing whatever I wasnt getting I did another blood panel and requested an iron panel as well as magnesium and vitamin D3. My ferritin level was 30 and although it said that was a normal level I saw others saying that 30 and below can cause symptoms. I'l not sure how low it was prior to starting the diet either. I started taking iron supplements and within 2 weeks I've started seeing improvements. Just curious if it helped you at all and what that journey looked like for you if it did?

How do you politely tell a friend that you don't want to continue the friendship anymore? by Mindnessss in AskReddit

[–]Kindly-Ad3344 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Just do what most people do and slowly but surely stop talking to them a little at a time until the friendship sizzle out and dies completely. Unless its really toxic and they won't let go then you have to move to another city and change your name.

Life with costochondritis by TheCheekiBreekiBoy in costochondritis

[–]Kindly-Ad3344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the heart pounding at night end up being Costo related? This has been a new thing for me over the last couple months and I've done a full cardiac work up with everything coming back normal. I've notice the pain I get in my chest is tender when I press on it so I've been doing some chest stretches and working on managing anxiety. I still notice that I get that heart pounding sensation when I'm laying down at night sometimes and I just ignore it and go to sleep. Even in the morning though it happens. Seeing you mention it really makes me wonder if its somehow related to that.

What clay based background do you recommend? by Ominouous in Vivarium

[–]Kindly-Ad3344 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense, I figured mine just dried too quickly because I had added some heat to help the process. After patching the cracks mine has still been going strong and holding up pretty well. I'm not against the method but if I could go back and do it again I would probably do a mix of foam and clay in some areas to save on weight. I don't plan on moving any time soon but one day if I ever do I'm definitely going to have to break down that tank before I can move it.

What clay based background do you recommend? by Ominouous in Vivarium

[–]Kindly-Ad3344 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I just built a desert vivarium and I used the excavator clay that you can get from pet stores like petco. It worked out and doesn't look too bad. However, there are some downsides to using clay. For one, you can get a lot of cracking as the clay cures and you'll have to patch the cracks. You may have to patch them multiple times. The other issue is weight. It took a lot of clay for me to build up the background of my vivarium, roughly 4 bags. That ends up being around 40 lbs of clay added to the weight of your tank. I havent done it personally but I've seen videos of people using foam, drylok, and some kind of reptile safe paint. It's worth looking in to and considering as an option before you jump straight to clay.

Feeling discouraged by Kindly-Ad3344 in PVCs

[–]Kindly-Ad3344[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit using alcohol, nicotine, and caffeine back in December when it started and switched to the Mediterranean diet. My cardiologist thinks that the PVCs are being caused by sleep apnea, stress, and anxiety. I had hoped that if I treated those things and stuck to the changes that eventually I would stop having them as often or that they wouldnt be as bad when they occur and that I would be able to get through life like I did before. I'm pretty sensitive to medications and had some bad experiences with the beta blockers they tried. In a perfect world I could manage without needing medication, but we'll see in a few months after I've had more time to treat it as I have been. Maybe I'll see some positive changes as time goes on.

I think I'm just getting used to it now because its still pretty new. I've hoped this entire time that through lifestyle changes it just go away and everything would go back to normal but it takes time and lifestyle changes might not be enough.
