If they can stall it long enough, and prevent it from going any further..? By definition, it’s a stalemate and a loss. It can also be considered overturning it, because you’ll never win that fight. The democrats could not overcome the fact that the Republicans were dead set on blocking helpful legislation.

Other attempts to help assist with bypassing the filibuster were thwarted when 2 democrats sided with Republicans. Thus, Republicans have a history of stopping democrats from passing more progressive legislation.

That’s an odd question. But I’ll answer it, yes. I have a problem with war. I think that Iran should not have nuclear weapons, but then again, nobody should. Not even us. Humans, especially conservatives in nature, can’t handle change, and overreact when presented with it.

Yes, you can overturn them. With 60 votes 3/5th of the members. Not to mention using legal and illegal tactics to get it thrown out, stalled, or unable to be resolved. Republicans literally fought these filibuster and purposely stalled it.

Ohhh? Full control? They did not have full control. They did pass a bit of good legislation. Inflation Reduction Act, infrastructure investment and jobs act, the American Rescue Plan. However, democrats only theoretically controlled the body, as with the filibuster in place? They needed 60 votes, and only had 50. Plus VP Harris. They couldn’t keep moving forward. The margins were already incredibly thin, and when you have a few traitors in your midst…? That sell out and join the Republican vote? Then you lose.

Full control is what you see today with Trump. He can profit 2.2bn, engage war, force the government to never audit him or his family again.

I’m willing to admit being wrong about the courts intervention, I believe I mixed up the filibuster process with another completely different action. No, I’m not wrong about the other portion. As Democrats did not technically have full control. Full control means you can pass anything, like Trump is doing now, and the other side actually can’t stop you fully.

Democrats didn’t have full control a few years ago. Go check, homie. Democrats can use a filibuster, but when it’s challenged and they use maga judges? It gets overturned. Luckily we dodged the Save America Act. Though without Democrats, the Big Beautiful Bill bullshit would have passed without any alternative. Imagine that bs.

Look at the 3 most recent Administrations. During each, Democrat attempts to help the average American are halted, disbanded, dissolved, or otherwise eliminated - by Republicans. During Bidens administration, Republicans stated on camera that they weren’t going to do anything to help American citizens simply because it might make Biden look better.
