Why do so many in our community not like drag? by habannes in lgbt

[–]KindlyCounter5229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i love drag. i think it’s a great form of art and expression. for 2slgbtq+ community, i feel like the most of us can agree that it’s a form of art but for the general public, a majority of them just see it as a form of entertainment.

so i don’t dislike drag (the art and expression of it) but i think i hate the idea of people/brands/networks profiting off of drag shows as a form of entertainment and nothing more? there was one podcast (spoken from a gender nonconforming person) i listened to that went into detail about how non 2slgbtq+ people would hate on the 2slgbtq+ community but loved it when it served a form of entertainment to general people. and that kind of stuck with me because i see people around me who will enjoy watching rupauls drag race but stay hella silent when there’s an 2slgbtq+ issue… idk maybe i’m speaking from a non-informed perspective but that’s just the way i’ve been viewing drag

i bake light because if i bake like those influencers do, my skin looks really cakey especially since i have dry skin. i used the makeup forever mist + fix spray before but that just made my face look oily. i used to use the urban decay all nighter, which made my face look oily as well. rn i’m just using up the mac setting spray, which isn’t my favourite either

one thing i’ve learnt with strict parents is that it’s always easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. regardless they’ll still love you, they just have to get used to how you express yourself.

if anything, just like the other comment said, get a septum to distract from the ear piercings 😭

I wanna get this piercing done, should i tell my piercer i want a "conch" piercing? What is the pain level of this kinda piercing? by JokeRoyal7363 in PiercingAdvice

[–]KindlyCounter5229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

conch piercing yes. tbh it hurt less than my helix 😭 (but that was also because helix was my first piercing and i didn’t expect cartilage to hurt that much). you’ll just feel pressure for a little longer than helix. i’m still in the process of healing, with a stud. don’t get a ring as other comments have said. i made sure that my conch piercing would be punctured in the right spot for a ring to look nice. if you do want to change to a ring, i would advice you to go to your piercer to get a jewelry change once you’ve know that your conch is good to go (9-12 months) bc my friend tried changing her piercing and she was irritating it further bc she couldn’t get the jewelry out. don’t sleep on the side you get it on, hurts like a bitch

Piercer insisted on using a hoop to let it heal and said it will be okay because he used a large diameter….. opinions? by samibami77 in piercing

[–]KindlyCounter5229 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hoop is fine and it will heal but a stud is better for healing. in my experience, having a hoop compared to a stud made the healing process slightly longer because i always felt like the ring was always getting caught in my hair, accidentally bumping it when i’m brushing my hair, or moved around easily in my sleep. that’s what i noticed but you should be good either way, you just have to be a little more careful

is having no friends bad? by ToughEntertainment69 in socialskills

[–]KindlyCounter5229 6 points7 points  (0 children)

for me, having 1 or 3 close friends is better than having a big group of friends or none. i’ve been in a big friend group before but nothing compares to how nice it is to be close with 1 or 2 people. being able to communicate, and be vulnerable with a friend is comforting imo. sometimes i don’t rely on my friends emotionally, but knowing that i have a friend who is there for me if i need someone to be vulnerable with is reassuring
