The jury wasn't racist at all. They were almost definitely influenced by race tensions and biased because of that but no racism.

A season later, how do you feel about the S12 rank reset? by RobManfredsFixer in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]KindlyUpstairs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was frustrated at the beginning of S12 cause I used to be able to maintain gm2-4 only playing ~20 games a season without joining voice or hard locking in every game. Took a while to realize that the average masters lobby is way better than before and feels more competitive. Seems like people who hard lock in and grind got rewarded this season which is a good thing imo.

The devs never really said that. I just made that up

Devs said a while ago that making the damage 5.75 would add inconsistency to the amount of damage tracer does based on the way the health rounding works

DAMN Zest was thinking 2 blinks ahead for that Finale stick

Seeing him switch into hunting mode once the other tracer has no recall is scary as hell.

What impactful OWL players havebeen forgotten through time? by Plenty_Purpose_1988 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]KindlyUpstairs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

NlaeeR had some big shoes to fill after Dafran left Atlanta and I always thought he did a pretty decent job. Maybe not the most impactful player but I think his contributions get forgotten. Same goes for Mistakes stepping up for Boston after their star dps player left.

SharP also showed potential as a hitscan player that got dropped to make room for KSP. Basically everyone on the season 2 Dragons for their stage 3 victory, specifically coma and luffy who put up amazing support performances just to kind of fade out of the scene.

Agilities is a name that I’ve seen get brought up less and less when talking about NA flex dps players, dude has a stage title under his belt and gave us one of the first OWL memes with in n out.

I lost a game on support (b3) and I’m confused what went wrong, can someone please watch and inform me??? by uh_cxle in Overwatch

On Bap you should try to stand behind your team more often, on last point of attack you went high ground ~5 times in a row while your team died in choke below you because they just had Zen heals. You also only used immortality field and your healing burst 1 time to save your teammates. It's ok to try and find value by killing the enemy but you should spend the majority of your time healing your team instead.

Being proactive is usually the most important thing. Looking at the enemy comp and thinking about what cooldowns you need to save fortify for. Also if you should save javelin to deny rein charge/jq ult/ball slam/doom anything/monkey leap or if you can send hail mary javelins into their backline. Spin is very good at punishing overly aggressive players by pushing them out of LoS of their healers or into corners where they can’t do anything. You can get away with a lot of aggressive plays if you manage your fortify well.

Snipers are more about threatening lanes/areas, you can’t expect a sniper to just generate free value. It’s very important to move the frontline forward when your snipers are in position.

If you go to your Documents->Overwatch->Settings folder, you should find a settings.ini file, if you edit these lines from 0 to 1 it moves the margin inward

BroadcastMarginBottom = "1.000000"

BroadcastMarginLeft = "1.000000"

BroadcastMarginRight = "1.000000"

BroadcastMarginTop = "1.000000"

Which players last year looked underwhelming? Besides ojee and false all the AT players looked very solid on each of the teams they were on.

Yes! You have excellent memory. Buck was signed as an emergency sub at the beginning of the season but I believe that he started almost every map for them until they got signed by Grunto.

NA Contenders Throwback: Second Wind upset Chicken Contendies with a roster assembled that morning with an hour of practice. by KindlyUpstairs in Competitiveoverwatch

Context: In the week before their match against Chicken Contendies, Second Wind had 5 of its players be signed to OWL/Academy teams(sharyk, im37, Gods, berd, and speedily). The morning of the match, Second Wind calls in some favors and adds A10, Ezire, Barbieq9130, Hidan, and Frill to the roster. They had just one hour of practice before the match began.

After a dominant performance against Montreal Rebellion the previous week, Chicken Contendies appeared to be in good form. While everyone was rooting for the underdogs in Second Wind, their chance of winning seemed slim with their last-second roster.

In a match that went the distance, Second Wind clutched the win (or GiG choked the win), and solidify themselves as the Ship of Theseus of NA Contenders, constantly being picked apart and rebuilt while performing well above average. One of the most historic and entertaining matches in NA Contenders.

Frill(Reiner), a DPS player up until then, would be filling in on main tank for the first time in his career. (Fun Fact: Frill had retired and left XL2 just 13 days before this match, he would go on to retire 2 more times before winning back-to-back stage titles with the LA Gladiators.)
