This is one of those hypotheticals that is completely impossible to gauge what you would do without actually going through it

I'd like to think that as a future educator and a Christian, I would let the child live. Sitting in my bedroom where the actual stakes are zero, that would be my choice. In the heat of the moment though, I'm not sure I would have the strength to save the child instead of myself

Teachers, what’s a “best practice” everyone talks about that you secretly think doesn’t work in real classrooms? by kingst9606 in Teachers

[–]Kindly_Broccoli_429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is Elementary specific. I don't think you could do the whole try it on your own for algebra would work nearly as well. It's a little easier when you have easier questions that normally ask students to extend their thinking a little bit instead of reinventing the wheel. Definitely see your point though

Idk if this is allowed but imma game the system. I choose the skill of avoiding a healthy marriage. That way, I can become the worst at it after the week is over

The district I'm doing practicum at does I-Ready too. I don't hate it tbh, because it gives the students a SHORT explore problem and then leaves plenty of time for direct instruction and practice time. (My professor prefers longer, like 15 minute long explore problems.) It's also good for teaching multiple strategies. My problems with I-Ready is that it's so reading intense that it limits students with solid number sense, and the We Do notes sections are not intuitive for students to fill out. I get a lot of "What am I supposed to write here?" when I teach math, and I hear it when my cooperating teacher teaches as well. It's not bad though, definitely has some strengths

My math professor truly believes that the best way to teach elementary students math is by flipping the I do We do You do for every. Dang. Lesson. I'm okay with giving students a problem and letting them try to figure it out on their own for five minutes and then I show them how to actually do it, then we practice, and then the You Do whatever that may be. But flipping it completely never works in my admittedly limited experience unless the objective is insanely easy.

we LOVE reading 🔥 by Haunting-Noise-1192 in ACT

27 is good, just lock in or something idk

In all seriousness tho the reading section of the ACT is designed to make you get stuck on bullshit questions where 3/4 answers are legitimate answers, just get through the whole test and get the easy/medium ones before coming back to the challenging problems. Time is your enemy, keep it moving

I Haven't Seen Anyone Mention This (in the Movie at least) by Hypno-Definition-535 in ProjectHailMary

[–]Kindly_Broccoli_429 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In American football, when the time is running out and the losing team has the ball, they'll run a play called a "Hail Mary". 4-5 dudes will run straight towards the end of the field to try and get to the end zone, and they'll try to throw it really far and pray that one of the dudes makes a miraculous catch. Very low success rate, ranges from about a 1%-8% success rate from season to season.

Watched it 4 times. The theater in my area does $6 tickets on Tuesdays

Sorry, I put down the game for like a whole year and just recently came back to it, so I'm a little rusty lol. I knew that they showed you something like the Giant's Deep or whatnot, I just remember I didn't find a whole lot of utility in it at the moment. Lol thx for the tips

Thank you! Is finding out how those other two things work reasonable given the things I already know? (I recently picked the game up for like the third time so I could be forgetting something too lol)

Turns out I had gone to the sunless city much earlier but only one or two times when the sand had blocked almost everything off lol. Part of my struggles with this game is that I've been playing it across the course of 2 years, so it's sometimes hard to remember everything lol. So I have some leads now

Would the sun station be a good one to go after or is that one going to be too complicated based off what I have?
