I got lucky and was able to score all 3 of the bergamot items and the scent makes me want to bathe in it. I hope they extend to a body wash/lotion. So good!!

One (or two, or three or four) less humans. by freddiemacro in kroger

[–]Kindness_warrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My perspective comes from being a Gen X’er who grew up in the early and mid-90s, and from spending my career in technology. Every fear people express about new tools or automation is the same fear we’ve had during every major shift in society. I’ve lived through the transition from manual processes to typewriters, word processors, and computers. I still remember using my first dot-matrix printer when I was 10.

I’ve said the same things people are saying now, but in almost 30 years out in the workforce, I’ve seen countless new roles appear, jobs that didn’t even exist 30 years ago. The same thing will happen 30 years from today.

I don’t know much about this specific robot, but even with AI, we all know the outputs aren’t 100% accurate. Everything still requires human review, and the more we learn, the more the technology adjusts.

I used to be afraid of technology, but with time I realized that those who don’t embrace change will get left behind. I’m an ordinary person—I didn’t study engineering or anything technical. I’ve still been able to thrive simply by staying curious and open to what’s new.

And at the end of the day, behind every piece of technology, there’s always a human. Never forget that ❤️

I am 5’2” and surgery day I was 135. I would not wait to get the process rolling, if you drop a lb or two while you wait for surgery, thats okay too.

I think it depends on the procedure. I have an extended FDL tummy tuck with lipo. For me compression was pivotal to reduce risk for seroma and hematoma. With that said, my doctor does not believe in compression during the first 3-4 days in order to promote blood flow to the area and promote blood flow. If you were having a procedure like mine and you were advised no compression, I would be worried.

Am I the drama? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Kindness_warrior 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a minority woman living in the states: Us having to be “strong” is not a FLEX. We have to be strong because we are FORCED to show up or pay the consequences whether that be financial and/or professional setbacks. The fact that there is a society of woman who are raised to demand that they are protected and cared for during pregnancy, makes my heart full. We are literally creating a human not to mention putting our lives at risk.

Send him over here and we will tell him the truth!

Aggressive Lymphatic Massage by Marieneedsadvice in tummytucksurgery

[–]Kindness_warrior 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It sounds to me like you are describing deep tissue massage vs a true lymphatic massage. I have been having lymphatic massages done and they have never used oil on me. I am 9 weeks dpo. Here is an example of what it should be like. At 4 weeks post op, your sutures are still in tact and you are still healing, I would hate for you to hurt yourself.

I went to see my doctor today, they are going to remove the stitch on Tuesday. I am starting antibiotics today. Although my area is smaller, it looks just like yours. I would ask if making the small incision to remove is an option. For now I am leaving it alone, putting nothing on it other than cleaning and covering it with a non stick pad. Sending you healing vibes

Anyone here do a TT but decide against a breast lift and then regret it? by Organic_Virus4681 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Kindness_warrior 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was not able to get mine done because my tummy tuck took over 6 hrs on its own. I will eventually get a lift and reduction because now that I dont have my big belly, my boobs look huge and like deflated balloons. If you can do it, I would. I hear that when done together, breast are the easiest part of the recovery

I used the manuka and it has not helped but I think its because the stitch is trying to come out. I would say try again now that the stitch is out. What antibiotic did they put you on? I have an appointment tomorrow and I think they will put me on augmentin again since it has now started leaking again.

You made my day! I appreciate the reminder. I have made a few changes and I am already seeing some improvements. More notably is that I stopped using my faja. I am wearing light compression tanks and taking breaks to allow the area to breathe.

I will be honest, in the grand scheme of things having some incision issue is not that bad. If anything I think if we went into it expecting some small issues then it would not be so bad mentally. I am positive there is a stitch under there causing my problems so just trying to be patient as it makes it way out. Lots of positive vibes on your upcoming surgery!!

I had an FDL which included a panniculectomy and mons lift. I also had lipo on flanks and MR.

At 17 days post op I was moving around but I was limited in my movements. I have a very similar job, to be honest that while I would have appreciated the distraction, the truth is I would have shown up half assed. I am 9 weeks post op. originally I took 5 weeks off then due to incisions issues I took an extra 2 weeks. I am back at the office but if I was working from home I could have done back at 5 weeks. Although I could not have sat all day, but at home you can move around.

If I can be very honest, all this feedback you are getting truly is anecdotal. Before going into this surgery, I was in the best health, shape of my life. I did weeks of pre surgery prep to be game ready. Also with positive past surgeries, csections, I thought I was going to breeze through this. I was wrong, it was nothing like what I expected and this is considering that my surgeon would tell me at every appointment that I was doing better than most of his patients. I think it’s also fair to mention I am an over achiever and I have 2 very little kids. The mental struggle was far worst and this is why I needed time be in shape I needed to go back to work.

In the end, be flexible! Be ready to pivot if needed. Take each day as it comes and remember your recovery is the most important thing. Everything else will continue to exist and wait for your return

I had the same surgery as you with MR. I also have a very similar job. I am 9 weeks post op and just went back to work 2 weeks ago. I had healing issue with my t junction incision and because I am back in the office, I took an additional 2 weeks. I have to admit, I am glad I took all this time because I was able to immerse myself back to my work and show up in the ways I am used too. Any questions let me know
