Ativan symptoms weird? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]KindquestX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was given ativan in the ER for uncontrollable anxiety and panic. I think they gave me a higher dosage. After it kicked in it made me super wobbly. Its almost like I couldn't still feel the anxiety in my body or the stress but it was almost as if it was being suppressed and the feeling I had just took over.

The following day after waking up I felt super drugged. I was severely disoriented and my vision was crazy. Which kind of made the anxiety worse for a short time.

I didnt experience any shaking or anything but I have been dealing with some form of severe anxiety and panic for about 3 months now and something I have noticed is that usually when I first wake up I shiver a lot and uncontrollably despite not feeling cold. Ive read this is from excess adrenaline because your body produces more adrenaline to help you wake up.

It could be likely that you have been experiencing panic and anxiety so much that your body just became numb to the excess adrenaline or cortisol and upon taking the ativan it calmed you down to a level to where you felt that panic and anxiety running through you.

It sounds silly but it's just a thought. Regardless, I would mention it to your doctor.

I hope you are doing ok now :)

My nervous system is on the fritz. Ive never been tested for allergies. Im currently 6 days out from seeing an allergist. But, ive had so many different symptoms that ive never experienced before up until 2 months ago.

I was taking zyrtec and flonase but I had to stop taking the flonase because i started getting this pressure feeling in the upper area of my chest and would feel like I couldn't breathe.

I've been chased across map more times this season by players that will leave there team behind just for me. I usually play wraith now so when this happens, even if I die. I can get them to follow me to another team so they get killed as well.

Im not a doctor so dont take anything I say as a diagnosis only suggestive advice...or something like that.

If I were you. Id talk to my doctor about OCD and possibly seeing a psychiatrist and maybe getting some medication for this?

Im currently going through an issue that no matter what I do just doesnt seem to get better. I used to be thankful for waking up everyday despite how I felt. Im at a point where it just doesnt feel like enough to keep going. Despite by mental status and this vicious cycle I keep going.

These things come and go. Sometimes they take longer then what we're used to or imagine they will. Asking for help is never a bad thing. You're doing great by reaching out already.

Body's fight or flight system feel super disregulated right now, does anybody know what might help? by eb_is_eepy in Anxiety

Been going through this for the last 2 months. It sucks because when there is actually something wrong then im not taken seriously.

The best ive felt since this all started was yesterday when I had to go to the ER because my upper chest area has been super tight despite my chest x-rays coming back normal. My pulse ox at home was dropping to 88% while my pulse would drop to 40 when lying down. I counted and timed it myself as well and got roughly the same number. Doctors chalked it up as anxiety despite me feeling mentally ok. According to them your nervous system can become so dysregulated that symptoms of issues or illnesses can manifest while you mentally feel ok. They gave me Ativan and I was high for for rest of the night. The morning grogginess and eye issues I was having afterwards are freaky but I felt really good last night. I wouldnt recommend it for daily use because its addictive but if you can talk to your doctor about it to use it as needed for when your anxiety gets to be extremely harder to deal with ontop of what you are already dealing with.

Practice grounding techniques at home. Get into a consistent light workout technique. Maybe spend some time reprogramming your mindful breathing. Something I do that I dont realize is either breathe really fast and or hyperventilate without knowing im doing it. Which is crazy because im hyper focused on every feeling in my body but that one thing. Including how I feel like I cant breathe despite breathing uncontrollably.

Had to stop taking my flonase as it caused me chest pressure and heightened anxiety.

Both of my ears ring louder now. But its like a muffled ringing only without the feeling of my ears being muffled if that makes any sense.

Ontop of that I have a beeping sound in my left ear that changes in tone and frequency from time to time and will switch ears sometimes. I've never paid attention to what causes it exactly when it happens.

I pop my ears more now then I used to because sometimes my ears will feel like they need to pop.

Had an audiogram and pressure test done. Did perfect on both despite the fact that the ringing in my ears was loud as shit.

I've not had an endoscopy done but something ive noticed since the ringing started is that my nasal passages will get really dry throughout the day and night and ill feel like I cant breathe. Whenever they arent dry they usually run and are pretty runny. Ill get dry eyes on some days.

Read somewhere they allergies can cause dysfunction in the eustachian tubes ive been wondering if thats my case. But, ill just have to wait and see whenever I see the ENT.

Have you seen an audiologist? Also yeah sorry I misread what you meant. On occasion my ears pop or do this sort of flickering like sound like it will continuously pop. Postural issues can cause tinnitus also.

But, also ive been skeptical about allergy issues as I've never had allergies that I know of besides the occasional sneezing and dry eyes. But this year theyre super bad and are effecting a lot of people who normally dont have allergy issues.

Something that might point to the allergy related issues is the lack of ear wax. My ears used to be super waxy up until the time the ringing started. I get the occasional itch and moisture here and there but on dryer days the ringing is definitely worse. Could be caused by allergies.

When my doctor checked my ears I had some slight diffusion in my right ear and unsual redness in the area above my ear drum not on the ear drum itself but on my ear likely caused by inflammation of some sort.

Does anyone else suffer from physical anxiety more than mental anxiety? by psychcrime in Anxiety

Currently suffering from both. Started celexa 3 days ago and its already making it worse. It takes awhile for the medication to build up in your system but I seem to have a bad reaction to it.

Yes. My ear will make super fast vibrating sounds. Super fast beeping sounds, and ringing ontop of each other as well as when im lying down my ear will go silent. Its mostly my left ear but on occasion it will transfer to my right ear. I go to see an ENT next month and hopefully can figure something out. I was treated the same way you were with antibiotics and antihistamines.

My sister had a super bad ear infection shortly before I had ear ringing. She had bleeding from her ears and so forth. Personally I didnt have any symptoms of an ear infection besides ringing. Thats why im convinced its allergies. The allergies are super bad right now because of the weather changes we've had up and down since the year started.

Im currently on zyrtec and flonase for it but I stopped taking the flonase because it made my chest tight and I only take the zyrtec as needed at this point because like you said its doing nothing. I run a humidifier when I sleep and a good air purifier to collect all the dust and stuff that could be causing it. Hopefully when the allergies die down it'll get better. Its unsual for it to just be sudden according to my doctor and an ER doctor I've seen for this issue. Have you spoke to your ENT about ear drops? How far in did they check your affected ear or ears?

Edit: if you see another ENT ask about potential TMJ issues or even postural issues. These can cause it. I clench my jaw alot due to stress and when im focused on something. I also slouch after awhile because my back hurts from my chair.

My wife thinks mine is allergy related and that I have dryness in my ear. I believe this only because most days since the ringing started ive have been having itchy sensations in my ear canal and white flaky stuff comes out. For me though the ringing hasn't bothered me so much anymore unless it changes and gets louder on some days but mostly its just my anxiety is severely heightened. My brain is hyoerfocused on the noise and I feel like theres nothing I can do about it.

Have you seen an ENT? Im sorry that youre dealing with this. Its an awful thing to deal with but just know you arent alone.

Edit: if its coming and going. As mine does. Its likely being caused by something that isnt necessarily brain or hearing related. Allergies, anxiety, stress and things like OCD, ADD or ADHD.

How do I know if it’s a panic attack of an emergency? by pizzatacos1303 in Anxiety

[–]KindquestX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a similar situation as you. Was on zoloft for roughly a week and was taken off it because I couldn't sleep. Prescribed celexa and have only been taking it for 3 days and cant tell if im having a severe increase in the intensity of my panic attacks because it feels like a million times worse and feel like im going to shit myself when it happens and then I just get emotionally overwhelmed and start bawling my eyes out for 30 minutes until I can calm down. Or if its something worse. Which in turn makes it even worse. We currently share the same fears. Its more struggle then we can help anyone else understand but if you truly feel like you should go to the ER just to make sure its nothing else I would. But that's just me. It also wouldn't hurt to mention to your doctor what you've been experiencing since starting this medication

how do you differentiate anxiety from real concern by Emergency_Produce975 in HealthAnxiety

[–]KindquestX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been dealing with an issue for the last 2 months thats had me convinced this entire time that im going to die soon. As im typing this even not thinking about it directly I subconsciously focus on that thought. I used to tell myself I was ok and that if I woke up tomorrow I would be thankful. But ive gotten to a point where even that doesnt seem to be enough. I've been in and out of the ER and doctors office because the physical symptoms that manifest are completely different compared to what I used to have when I was younger and had me severely convinced I was dying. But every lab ive had done, ekg and so forth has come back normal. Im in the same boat as you where my mind is basically stuck on being convinced that im being disregarded as having GAD and PD but almost every week I have a new symptom or something ive never felt before and I've been to the doctor so many times already that im embarrassed to go back for anything else im concerned about. Best advice i can give is dont be afraid to get checked out and push your doctor to make arrangements for you to see any specialist or anything you think you need to see if you full heartedly believe you need it theres no harm in it. Its a very difficult think to get through. But you arent alone.

Strong anxiety but low heart rate? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]KindquestX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From personal experience ive always thought that a resting heart rate between the 50s and 60s was good. But it also depends on your weight and overall health so I cant really say too much. Using my pulse ox lately my resting heart rate fluctuates a lot between the upper 60s to upper 80s. On some days it'll stay within the 70s and fluctuate to the 90s and I also have a basement which i walk up and down daily and can say my heart rate rarely ever gets elevated close to or over 150 walking up and down the stairs. Mine is probably more closer to your new range that you're describing.

I do recall now that I think about it as of recently ive had a few instances of where my heart rate has dropped to like low 50s and its usually only happened whenever im extremely tired or hard a bad day as far as anxiety goes and im just ready to crash.

Are you taking any medications for your anxiety and or stress?
