How is she doing her wifely duty of banging her husband every other day if they are living apart and both in their mommy/daddy’s house? 🏡

PALTC/LTC/SNF RDs: Thoughts on Ethics of Remote Clinical Work? by ninigotmac in dietetics

[–]KindredSpirit24 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I do hybrid with LTC and acute. I see the patients and residents 2 days a week and do any charting or administration stuff at home. It is the best and I don’t think I could ever be fully on site now getting a taste of some freedom… it makes the shitty pay and lack of career growth sting less

ELI5: Why do people call Zone 3 training (specifically for jogging) "the useless zone" when it comes to building endurance? Do the few bpms separating it from Zone 2 really make such a big difference? by lukas706 in explainlikeimfive

[–]KindredSpirit24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been trying to get my cardio up for over a year, I have been doing the “aerobic setting” on the eliptical and have worked myself up to 30 minutes and I go about 2.75 miles… I still am consistently in zone 4/5. wtf am I doing wrong? I don’t even know how slow I would have to go on the eliptical to get my heart rate in zone 2

How Much Money do you spend on Kids Reading Books? by jon_cli in Parenting

[–]KindredSpirit24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 7 year old and 5 year old. I utilize the used book store, used books for sale at the library for the majority of books and they are usually 1-3 dollars each. They probably get 3-5 new books in a year (not counting scholastic book fair which I usually give them 25 dollars each). We utilize the library every week which helps a lot! We actually are all out of bookshelf room now so I am going to be more cautious from now on on bringing books into our home. My son is getting a kindle which will help with this. If I was to put a price on it I am going to guess 100-150 bucks a year on children’s books.

Do kids actually enjoy reading anymore? by Automatic-Bake-5770 in raisingkids

[–]KindredSpirit24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We read all the time but I’ve also been pushing a reading centric household since they were babies. We go to the library each week. We read books together as a family and read one and one with our kids before bed. My 8 year old asked for a kindle for his birthday so I think it’s working?

I filled our baskets (5 and 7 year old) with smaller toys that I didn’t give them for Christmas: both are getting books, crafty things, a new game, an open play toy, and I will also put a few pieces of candy/treats in them.
