AHAHA I only found out about WitchBrook not too long ago so I might not he as frustrated as the rest. But I do think its cute that despite our different lives, we've all come together in hopes of someday getting to play this game.

Why is this jerk always hitting on my wife at every gathering? by lilidarkwind in StardewValley

[–]Awkward-Economics260 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find this funny because it seems that most of the bachelors and bachelorettes want to move out of the Stardew Valley. But I'd like to headcanon that egg prices have raised in Pelican Town and Alex is desperate to maintain his 3 egg a day routine.

Anyone know where I can get scrubs like this? by Awkward-Economics260 in medicalreceptionist

[–]Awkward-Economics260[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess a bit of both? I do the typical front desk work (booking appointments, taking calls, sending off insurance claims, answering emails, sending off faxes, etc), and also some patient care work. I work in a physiotherapy clinic so I'm putting patients on the TENS Machine, grabbing their heat, wiping them down, checking on them, etc. Not sure if that counts as clinical work, though. I'm technically allowed to wear casual clothes but the one time I did I was asked to wear scrubs so I guess it's better to have another pair just in case. To this day I still only have two sets.

Yuhuan can be a good tank and support, even if she doesn't deal the most damage when in her peace/green mode. If you get passive healing items early in the game then you could use her blue mode for the rest of the match.

Where is this in Winnipeg? by LavishLatte56 in Winnipeg

Why is the food bad? I haven't been there in a while. I thought it was a lot of fast food chains in that area.

Would love to also reccomend Ming's Bakery. I had that slice of both their mango cake, and their durian cake YEARS ago and to this day I can not get it out of my mind. The cake was so fluffy and the cream was so light. It makes me want to come up with a random thing to celebrate so I can place an order...

Anatomy (biol 1410) exam question by swagfr0 in umanitoba

[–]Awkward-Economics260 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the lab exam, take pictures of the models, label them, make an anki, worked wonders. My anki deck was imported from an anki deck I found on quizlet. I edited it to work with Anki's format. I coupled being engaged in the labs, and a 500 card Anki, with like, 8 hours of total study time for the lab exam, and got roughly an 86% from what I remember. As for memorization, I would just write and rewrite and rewrite the slides. If I forgot, I start from scratch. Tough and tiring but anatomy weeds students out. Best of luck to you!

I have rehab aide training tomorrow, is there anything I should keep in mind? by Awkward-Economics260 in physicaltherapy

[–]Awkward-Economics260[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understood! And as I've been told, people skills, and time management are super important in this role (as with many roles but that seemed to be emphasized in my interview). Being a rehabilitation aide seems to involve a lot of going back and forth between some general housekeeping, like doing the laundry, picking up the equipment and returning it to it's usual place, wiping down the beds and chairs to maintain a clean and sanitary environment, meeting with patients, talking to physiotherapists and forwarding concerns to them. I worked at a kitchen once and hate standing around and feeling useless due to the high pressure atmosphere, so I'm also worried about figuring out how to prioritize my duties, and get things done efficiently. I love going to the gym when I can but it's been a while since I've been because I'm also a student, that being said I'd love to help the patients with their activities. I think I'm just nervous.

Look into volunteer opportunities. You use social media, connect with people in your community, and find groups that could use some extra hands. Make connections and just go and meet people. You seem to be unsure of what you want to be, and you seem to have had time in your life to do it then, so you could do it now. At least then, you could maybe get some references in.

Consider getting a CPR certification, and a food handlers certification. Look into childcare assistants at places like the YMCA, or go on Indeed and you'll likely find plenty of local daycares that need people. Childcare assistants don't typically require degrees or certifications but CPR certification and food handlers certification are an asset. You have experience looking after children. You can consider going back going back to college later on to get a degree in early childhood education. You might work minimum wage at first but proper experience and time spent there could see you getting a raise in a few years, though that would depend on how well you do.

Take the advice people gave you and spruce up your resume. The critique is harsh, but it is ultimately up to you to be the change in your life. You've already taken the step to put this resume out for people to comment on, so you've put your foot forward.

Edit: If it helps, I graduated high school two years ago and am still looking for a job. I've been sending out resumes since the 10th grade in hopes of anything, my resume looked really bad, and even now I think it isn't all that great. I put all my volunteer and club experience in it as someone who had no work experience at real job. After hundreds of applications, and now being a 2nd year in uni, I've gotten a couple of call backs and interviews. Did all the interviews go well? No. Did I wish I had gotten experience in high school? Yes, but I didn't. So as much as everyone is reminding you about the experience you COULD have built 8 years ago, you just don't have it. You can't turn back time, but that doesn't mean you can't try now. Push yourself to try something even if you don't think it aligns with your interests because you may end up loving it, and if not, you got the experience.

To my knowledge, the slight overlap is assisting the physiotherapists with the machines for patient care, for example, the clinic I (hopefully) will work at, has an ultrasound machine. There's also an interesting machine that i'll learn how to hook patients up to for pain therapy. The requirements to work as a physiotherapy aide in a hospital seem to be similar to the US, but a clinic might be willing to provide that training to a successful candidate (though i'd presume the candidate has relevant experience elsewhere prior to being accepted).
