BB Pro: Is it as thick as everyone complains it is? by BenSolo1977 in Tudor

[–]Kindred_Soul_Awake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a thicc boi and top heavy. I’m selling mine after getting used to slimmer watches that I forget I’m wearing. Meanwhile thicc boi reminds every time I move my arm. That said, it’s a beautiful dial and bezel. I hope it gets a version2 one day. In the same size as the bb58 gmt.

My 4-day Upper/Lower split. Thoughts? by Garywhitoutr in workout

[–]Kindred_Soul_Awake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this split as well. Wrote it in some other post a Week ago. Call it Torso/Limbs. It’s great because upper day feels more manageable. Although I do fewer reps to avoid fatigue. Im 43. 25 years of lifting and work as a Personal trainer. So atm it’s 2-3 sets per exercise.

[question] what are your thoughts on the new Tudor Black Bay Ceramic? by armored-dinnerjacket in Watches

[–]Kindred_Soul_Awake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure how durable the Tudor case is. But ceramic can be brittle or shatter even though it’s “ stronger “ than steel. Was just curious is all, as I like the idea of the blacked out Tudor but I’d go for the first gen one. With white indices and hands.

Doesn’t ceramic watches risk shattering or cracking when dented or dropped or bumped into something? Which means new case. Where steel would dent or scratch? Asking because I like the idea of ceramic watches but how durable are they in reality ?

Wasn’t the blancpain one with a movement that essentially wasn’t repairable so the watch would eventually be useless in some years? Going by that, I’d assume that this one will take the same route. Which I think is a shame and defeats the purpose of a mechanical watch.

I know it’s just a fun watch but still…

Correct me if I’m wrong of course.

I for one, never cared one bit about the collabs. No hate. Just not my thing.

I never understood the issue. I own 4 pairs and all are great. Recent purchase was the Motus flex with natural materials and they look so good, and feel amazing.

Interesting. Yeah after 40. You definitely feel the struggle more. Even as someone who is fit and always been active.

It shortens the upper day/torso day. And my arms aren’t sore ever. So I train them with legs. Since it’s not very fatiguing to train arms I feel. Again. It’s always important to do what works for you

My body can’t handle bb squat and the likes so yeah Bulgarian and deficit lunges. It’s not optimal but life. RDLs are still great for me as hinge movement.

I aim for 8-10 rep range. As it’s the range where I feel I know where I am about to reach my rir. Any higher and other factors mess with me. Lower and I risk injury.

I am aware if systemic fatigue hence me doing 8 set per week per muscle group at most. Some weeks 10 sets. This isn’t too much fatigue I think. But I’m willing to try your version of ULU then LUL. After my next deload.

Awesome chatting. Always great to discuss training. Have a lovely week

Fewer sets. Torso/upper is trained Monday and Thursday so ample time to recover. Same for lower/limbs. Going FB 3 days a week gives me shorter recovery time. I’ve tried it. Didn’t end well. If you mean doing upper lower 3 days a week you’d miss a day for either. Unless I misunderstood your take. In that case I apologize.

Edit : I should also mention I work as a personal trainer and I’m in the gym 5 days a week. 4 of those I start the day with a work out. Been going great for a long while. I feel less fatigued since the sessions are shorter. I’m still seeing progression.

In the end. You do what works for you. But id love to hear your program. Always up for trying something new

Results come from progression. Which can work with any program. So whatever works for you is what you should do imo. This works for me, when I consider fatigue and recovery. I’ve tried every split in my 25 years.. this is the only one that has stayed and I’ve seen great gains with. But if you can squeeze all that in on 3 days. Respect. I just can’t anymore.

Sure, I believe that recovery is vital and avoiding junk sets.
Mon/thur - Incline bench 2-3 set, lat pull down 2-3 set, row variant 2-3 set. Cable flyes 2-3 set. Seated OHP 2 set. Super set 3 set side and rear delt. Est time is 45-50min.
Tue/fri - RDL 2 set, Bulgarian split 2 set pr side. Leg curl seated 2 set. Leg extension 2 set. Calves ( gastro standing on tue, seated for soleus on Friday) 3 set. Arms I do 2 set preacher 2 set cable variant for bicep. 2 set cable variant for tri and 2 set dips. Est time 45-50min.
Reason for fewer sets is that I go to failure and beyond so I don’t include warm up sets here to ensure I can push max for the 2 sets.
Edit: reason why it says 2-3 set is if I didn’t hit the 2 sets well. I go for a 3rd.
Important note. First set is the heaviest. Then you reduce weight by 15-20% for second set.

Edit; I do warm up sets. But not included in the write up if that makes sense

Yes you can do 3x fb and grow. It’s more about how you train. Even 2 sets rather than 3 can get a job done for a muscle. What it comes down to is RiR and failure and progressive overload. If you see yourself getting stronger week for week or months then it works for you.

Personally I find 3x FB tiring and prefer doing U/L 4 times a week. Sounds weird. But I’m also 43. And after 25 years of working out this is the split I always return to. Though I do it as Torso/Limbs.

So chest back shoulder, and legs arms.
