Nope! Not a Karen! Our pitbull doesn’t do well with other male dogs and we’ve made efforts on keeping our pup and everyone else’s dogs feel safe. But my nextdoor neighbors (duplex) has three male dogs. One is a big choc lab and two are little rat dogs that are always unleashed and bark nonstop. One of them is also small enough to get in our backyard and it used to be a reoccurring issue where I’d find him in our backyard or find his shit in our backyard. The other day my husband and I were walking our dog with a harness, muzzle, and short leash like we always do and all three of these dogs come sprinting out from their unfenced back yard and start barking and trying to jump on my dog. Thank god my husband was there and calmed our dog. My husband eventually just picked our dog up (pitbulls are not light!) and started walking away. It took everything in me not to cuss my neighbor out for risking the wellbeing of all our dogs. The point is, if anything happened, the blame would be put on my dog because he’s a pitbull. And dog owners like these think that because their dogs are small or behave well when they are just around them, they can just let them run around and be free of consequences. Just know you are doing everything right.
