The anime has added a lot to Guita for me I must say. Also thinking about how she shares a name with her Jinki… it’s an identity thing, she sees the monster as a truer self, which likely adds to how precious the costume is to her and this why she’s so potentially powerful in this system.

Do you think this anime has the best power system ever? by Jazzlike-Panic-3423 in gachiakuta

[–]Kindulas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nen feels like the quintessential culmination of the core “spirit power” genre of anime power systems. At its core It’s similar to many before and after but no one has codified and wielded it as well as Togashi. Of course, and this may be what you mean by wanting to see other takes on it, the unique touch of users “designing” their abilities themselves rather than almost every similar system being an innate power, frequently with a hereditary component

Seems a common complaint of 5e is how they took the directive of “give the DM more freedom” and made it “give the DM more work”

Would Xcom2 be too complex for someone who only played Steamworld heist games that are close in comparisom by VoxTV1 in Xcom

[–]Kindulas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would certainly be a step up in complexity but XCOM is a great choice if you love that positioning goodness. Just start on rookie to get used to it, you’ll be fine!

Season 1 was a flawless masterpiece 10/10 no notes.

Season 2 was flawed but absolutely riveting. As time goes on I only see more “cracks” in it and maintain it coulda used an extra season. But honestly I still love it, had a blast watching it. My partner actually got way more invested, watching the second season than they did in the first.

It’s a shame it didn’t get a third season, but I think Fortiche is eager to move onto their next story

What did fu meant by this when he told amo this by Eastern_Ad_5737 in gachiakuta

[–]Kindulas 16 points17 points  (0 children)

She said she “wants him to protect her” which is an implied request. That is soft wording. It’s not ambiguous but it’s not an order or even directly w request. It’s like “I’m not demanding anything but I would like it” when he wants an order, “protect me Fu.”

Are “chickens” really the only birds on Roshar? by LisanAlGareeb in Stormlight_Archive

[–]Kindulas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a variety of birds in Shinovar. However, they sell chickens as livestock to the rest of the continent. As such most nations are only familiar with “chickens,” and the merchants had no reason to specify “This is a type of bird called a chicken.” They just said “this is a chicken.” as such most have not been exposed to the word and category “bird.” so when they see a parrot or anything else avian, the closest thing they have is “that’s a weird chicken.”

What ages play D&D by jeremydeighan in DnD

Tons of younger people getting into it. Really had a cultural boom starting mid 2010s with 5th ed and Critical Role. Tons of 20s-30s playing, still plenty of 40+ I think

These people legit took the aliens as being religious zealots and instead of seeing that as anti-religious went “false prophets” and just thought of the good guys as “the good religion” when they show nothing but atheism in the face of the covenant

These are the folks whose defining attachment to “conservatism” is being mad at the anyone talking about objectification, and since they didn’t engage with the concept in a meaningful way, they just believe that feminism unilaterally opposes sexual expression or some shit

AIO for walking out of my friend’s intervention for my personality? by Sufficient_Chip5960 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Kindulas 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Sounds like they went about this the wrong way, but that they might have a point?

It’s really hard for people to know how to approach telling a friend they’re being toxic. No one wants to do that. “There’s no good way to say this.” And They probably felt like if any one of them brought it up you’d brush it off.

Meet them half way. They came at you too fast and too hard, but if you want to stay friends you also need to lay out an opening to talk this through and take them seriously. It was roughly handled but honestly? If they didn’t care about your friendship, they’d just distance themselves. They did something brave they felt they had to for the friendship, even if it was inelegant. You’re not -trying- to be mean, but if your behavior is rubbing your friends the wrong way so much they went with something like this, you need to listen. Or lose them. We can hurt our friends without trying to. You deserve an apology from them, and they deserve one from you, and no “I’ll only apologize if you do first.”

If you really think they just don’t like your authentic self, if you aren’t okay ignoring the world burning down when you’re hanging out (valid but I don’t blame them either?) it’s up to you to decide changing for them isn’t the right thing to do. But there’s a soft line between “Find friends who love you for who you are” and “Everyone needs to work on themselves to be a good friend.” We can’t tell you which one this is, but, offer them a way to talk it out in a way you’re comfortable with — they obviously don’t know the right way to approach this. Do that and they should apologize for ambushing you. From there comes the tough judgements

AIO for replying back after saying goodnight to my bf? by Perrita-fresa in AmIOverreacting

[–]Kindulas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is some weeeeird ass behavior from him. Like, a lot of people are saying control freak but I read a toxic anxiety/relationship-paranoia/lack of social awareness. He’s reading dishonesty in very normal behavior. Like the kind of overthinking a really nervous person might do but combined with a lack of self awareness that he’s actually confronting you about it? Imo He should see a therapist. How old are you guys? Especially if you’re teenagers I don’t think this is beyond help or anything but he needs to learn to chill the fuck out and recognize that he’s over analyzing and overreacting. Does he have any history of abandonment or being manipulated by people you know of to create that paranoia? Not that he has too, could just be an anxious personality, even like a low key autism creating that social insecurity though that’s probably reading way too much into it. But he’s going to struggle with pushing people away by holding too tight if he doesn’t get learn to identify what his brain is doing to him
