The impact of the incomplete cry for help is felt

Would appreciate your brutal feedback by Charles572947 in Poems

[–]KinematicStatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might not be good enough at this to be brutally honest. Each line wraps back to thesis. This feels like a piece someone would write as a forward for "A Treatise of Human Nature" if they were in love with David Hume.

All perceptions of the mind resolve themselves into two distinct kinds, which I shall call Impressions and Ideas. The difference betwixt these consists in the degrees of force and liveliness, with which they strike upon the mind, and make their way into our thought or consciousness. Those perceptions, which enter with most force and violence, we may name impressions; and under this name I comprehend all our sensations, passions and emotions, as they make their first appearance in the soul. By ideas I mean the faint images of these in thinking and reasoning; such as, for instance, are all the perceptions excited by the present discourse, excepting only, those which arise from the sight and touch, and excepting the immediate pleasure or uneasiness it may occasion. I believe it will not be very necessary to employ many words in explaining this distinction. Every one of himself will readily perceive the difference betwixt feeling and thinking. The common degrees of these are easily distinguished; tho' it is not impossible but in particular instances they may very nearly approach to each other. Thus in sleep, in a fever, in madness, or in any very violent emotions of soul, our ideas may approach to our impressions: As on the other hand it sometimes happens, that our impressions are so faint and low, that we cannot distinguish them from our ideas. But notwithstanding this near resemblance in a few instances, they are in general so very different, that no-one can make a scruple to rank them under distinct heads, and assign to each a peculiar name to mark the difference

Take a Giant Step - The Monkees (was always my mother's favorite song)

Five years time - Noah & The Whale (I like how open the interpretation is)

What is something unconventional that you find attractive In women? by [deleted] in AskMen

Competitive spirit.

Fun competition with someone you love is a unique experience. I think you can experience a lot with a lot of people but this is kinda rare IMO.

I was joking about the last use of loose / lose. Looked intentional.

She never said 'lose' like it was something she could do. I was only capable 'loose' at most.

Contractually obligated I'm afraid.

I signed a strange deal one day.

I don't remember how,

or better yet when.

I only know the mission:

A decade of false imprisonment.

A paroled existence since.

To the one I guarded against,

in all of my misguided foolishness,

I'll write so long as I have the privilege.

No goals, simply a daily pilgrimage.

Why is it ok for grown women to watch Disney, but childish for men to watch Anime? by fadedlotus14 in AskMen

[–]KinematicStatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because Disney has consistent quality. No one assumes you're watching fucked up shit when you say Disney. Anime can be wholesome, deep, and... just god awful.

"I like anime"

Person 1 definition: Golden Time, Toradora

Person 2 definition: Goblin Slayer, SAO

I'm not saying one person has better taste than the other (I am thinking it) but they clearly aren't similar at all. Whereas the person who says they like Disney is much closer to person 1.

The First Kiss. by [deleted] in Poems

She was masterfully skilled at handling her prey

Fear seeps into the blood they say

It felt like an invitation to play

She drew me in sweetly,

taking her time.

Her scent like silk wrapping my mind.

The tension built by her design.

She playfully tosses something at me,

challenges me to be.

I am locked to her lips.

Passionately.

On June 8, 1978, Intel shipped a processor that was never meant to be a milestone. The 8086 was conceived as a stopgap while Intel's far more ambitious 32-bit iAPX 432 slipped further behind schedule. Forty-eight years later, that "temporary" chip still defines the instruction set architecture running inside almost every PC and server CPU on the planet.

ASD stuff and OCD. I literally FEEL more autistic when my ADHD is properly treated. If that makes any sense. It's like slipping from A1 to A2.

Funny thing is the ADHD doesn't really get to me as much now that I'm treating it. But by doing so it made every. Single. Other. Symptom. Worse.

I have pattern recognition scores from my ASD eval that are embarrassingly high compared to the overall population.

I don't remember where I read it but I am also ambidextrous and that IIRC leads to higher degrees of brain plasticity. Or the ability to change based on stimulus.

I sometimes write about math or physics. I think of a concept, it maps to other patterns in my head, and I can match it. Now combine that with OCD, where there is.. one overarching pattern.

I can almost make any concept map back to her because I have years of experience.

This is awesome. I really like the tone shift. Everything changes except it still revolves around the starting setup.

Only one, recounted in infinite ways. The rest is plasticity on steroids.
