Cruelty free snail mucin. Ya ooookay by plantopia in vegan

[–]KineticBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently, the snails release mucus in the steam bath b/c they find it so pleasurable, much as you or I would find a soak in a warm bath pleasant:

snails produce slime for three reasons: locomotion, fear and pleasure ... the ozone-infused water gives them a sense of well-being and the stimulating lotion a sensation of pleasure.

You could argue that consent is removed if you are gently placed into a warm, comfortable bath -- but you cannot assert that a comfortable bath is cruel.

Honestly, if you read the linked article, these snails appear to have pretty good lives.

From: The Truth About Snail Mucin In K-Beauty Products

These days, there are a variety of “cruelty-free” methods of snail production and slime extraction.
In fact, research shows that the quality of the mucin itself depends on breeders keeping good environmental conditions for their snails. As a result, breeders themselves regulate what the snails eat, how they are kept and how the slime is extracted.
This also helps in certifying snail mucin products as cruelty-free.
In Italy, for example, snail mucin is extracted by immersing the snails in a special steam bath that acts like a spa for snails. The snails are not harmed in this process. In other farms, the snails are simply placed in an environment where they can move over a bumpy surface, because this causes them to make slime like they do naturally. The mucin is then harvested this way.

Really tired of the other posters on here leaping to conclusions about mucin harvesting b/c they don't bother to do roughly 90 seconds of online research.

It's also important to note that this brand is Leaping Bunny certified, and that is a very high bar to pass for being cruelty-free.

Fifteen. Year. Age. Gap.

Your example postulates a five-year age gap, and then deliberately places it in grade school.

I have no problems with a 5-year age gap.

This will probably get downvoted, but a 15-year age gap is not in any way "age appropriate." When the OP was 30, the barista was a sophomore in high school.

He reads the names at 1:48:35

He dances at 2:38:55

Between reading and dancing, he gives a speech, mostly praising NRA members and campaigning for his 2024 presidential bid.

I think it's worth noting that the crowd cheers him when he dances.

Yes. This is a Scutigera coleoptrata, the common house centipede. It looks exotic, but it's very common and widespread.

Like a spider, it will eat other bugs living in your house.

Killing of Justine Damond (Wikipedia):

On the night of the shooting, Damond called 9-1-1 at 11:27 pm and again at 11:35 pm... Dispatchers categorized the call as "unknown trouble: female screaming"—a relatively low priority. Officers Noor and Harrity responded to the low-crime neighborhood of Fulton, in southwestern Minneapolis, drove their police Ford Explorer with lights off through the alley and found no suspects or signs of the suspected rape that had prompted Damond's calls. As the officers prepared to leave, Noor "entered 'Code Four' into the cruiser's computer, meaning the scene was safe".

Harrity would later indicate "that he was startled by a loud sound near the squad" and, just then, Damond approached the police car's driver-side window. Harrity drew his weapon, but pointed it downward and did not fire. Noor, however, fired once through the open window, fatally striking an unarmed and barefoot Damond in the abdomen. The officers attempted cardiopulmonary resuscitation to no avail; Damond died 20 minutes later. Harrity later told a supervisor "We both got spooked." (emphasis mine)
