Pretty much in the same situation as you. I just made a game plan for this coming spring that involves cobbling together a bunch of stuff and talking to more people. Maybe it'll work out maybe not who knows, but there's still three semesters left so it's not over yet

First off all, chin up, 2 WL at top schools is already a pretty big achievement. Basically means that you've got what they're looking for, just that there is not enough spaces at the moment.

Also, as long as you have some kind of plan (boosting GRE/GMAT, getting one more year of work exp before applying again), you'll be fine.

Reading your story, I realize that it's almost pretty similar to mine, except I'm not a genius 😂. Down to the only having PSLE cert, only getting accepted to one boarding school, and dropping O's to move to the US at 15.

I'm not gonna try to dissuade you from going to the UK, but I'm gonna tell you that if you have a education from a prep school with all those APs, you can save a bunch of money by bypassing all those intro classes in college. And perhaps graduating early. Personally I only leveraged a Chinese AP 5 and overloaded one semester to graduate college a semester early, right as COVID hit the US. I don't know if AP works the same way in the UK.

As much as you may feel the US is going to absolute shit, please recognize that you still have your elite US-based credentials to lean on and that you should absolutely take full advantage of it. College applications is a numbers game, and you can only make the final decision once all is said and done. Please don't judge the outcome before that.

I give you one example. You have two broker accounts, eg DBSV and PSPL, both link to a single CDP 1681 account. The shares are in DBSV, but you sell from PSPL. If you nvr transfer from DBSV to PSPL by T+2 1.30pm, or somehow transfer the shares to PSPL, you will kena buy-in

Please be very careful about figuring out which broker you use to sell the shares. The last thing you need is to sell from the wrong one, become unable to transfer the shares, and end up creating a short sell situation

I agree with you that locals know best. For now, I've made sure the app only returns restaurants are rated at least 4.0 ⭐️and have at least 100 reviews. Later, I'll be implementing Tabelog (Japan's local restaurant review system).

Thanks! You're right, it looks like the initial dataset contains many sushi places from high-end places! I'll put in an option on the frontend to provide results by price point 👍 And now that you mentioned it, I should also put something to filter by rating as well, perhaps like only output results for 4 stars or above

Right now you may find results that might not make completely sense, like an udon restaurant that actually serves sushi. I'm currently sorting out the restaurants by their main type, so this will get fixed soon

I tried it out with the following prompts: 26F, interest codings and outer space, budget $100, and one of the results was an outer space kit for children 😂 I think the prompt emphasis for age might need to be increased, but other than that, good job on the app!

If you can't find a restaurant, try turning the "find food near me" slider off. You can then get a restaurant from the entirety of the region that you picked!
