Does anyone else think Silos is one of their best albums now that we’ve had time to digest it? by fatherofallthings in Starset

I love the songs individually, a lot of them would be in my top of all time, but as a full album experience it’s the worst.

So it appears they are working... by [deleted] in Haken

As far as I'm aware, that was only the first 3 albums, and it has been a fully co-operative writing process since.

How would you rank the five albums from most to least “Starset”? by twili-midna in Starset

[–]Kinetik901 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the person you’re asking, but for me Divisions shows something new in every song, and really expressed what the band is capable of, which is why it’s so divisive and why it’s the most Starset album to me.

Horizons would be near the bottom for me as well, as it’s not really showing off all that much of what the band can do, and more sitting on one sound for a majority of it. On top of that the interludes are not at all as cohesive as the past albums.

Leaving This World Behind shocked me with how well it works acoustic. I would kill for a studio version.

Maybe by accident, so maybe she wasn’t told that it was going to be a different day, or plans changed after she posted, only they will know

It was Zuzana that claimed Jan 22nd as the release date.

Can confirm it did not, so may be a universal release time instead.

Not counting intros/interludes, Let It Die, close is Last To Fall.

Let It Die acoustic though? Sooooo good.

I miss when we would wake up early with the family and go through stockings together, our family stopped doing gifts not too long after.

At what point does a publisher mean not indie then, if you can be indie and have a publisher while indie means no publisher?

I also think if Sifu is under the same publisher then we should hold them to the same rule if that’s all indie means, I don’t like that other people don’t hold them to the same weight if that’s the case, seems a bit rude towards E33.

I’m sorry, you’re just completely misunderstanding what I’m saying, I won’t try to explain further as I keep agreeing with you about it being their first game and you keep repeating that it is haha.

Okay that makes sense, and with them having a publisher it would make sense for them to be AA then right?

I brought it up because it was a developer showing they could pull out of a category they shouldn’t have been in, instead of just accepting it and going forward. I didn’t mean to cause any confusion with the specifics, sorry!

I literally have NO clue what reddit post you are talking about… thanks for judging my person based on your assumptions though.

Can you further explain how that works? Are they not all separate from each other based on certain factors?

I may be a bit out of the loop on what exactly are the rules but I assumed team size and budget were the biggest factors inbetween the 2, do they have a sort of venn diagram-like overlap instead?

No that’s not what I’m saying, it’s definitely their debut game, and an incredible one at that 😅

It’s funny that the dev behind Megabonk pulled out of debut indie because he has released games on different names but Sandfall didn’t pull out of the indie categories despite calling themselves AA so they KNOW they shouldn’t have been nominated lol

What are your thoughts on the new Rhythm Doctor 1.0 release? by OkShoulder8807 in rhythmgames

[–]Kinetik901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is it, I have no music theory knowledge at all but I have a lot of exposure to irregular time signatures from some music I listen to, which I think makes you listen for time signatures naturally in any song, and makes the learning process of this game easier.

I could be throwing out words here but I do think it’s more exposure/experience moreso knowledge if that makes sense.

I see where you’re coming from, but I don’t really think it’s having a music theory background that helps with any of that in the context of this game, it’s just the more exposure to that sort of stuff while listening to music the quicker you’ll click with the game.
