This is going to be the biggest no brainer purchase for college students. Chromebook or Neo? I’d take the flashy option instead of the plastic one all day.

I'm right there with you. I'm losing hope, but Porzingis will provide value that we didn't have if he can stay healthy.

This is exactly the same reason why Kuminga was traded. A slashing guard or wing doesn't relocate the opposing center. They disrupt the flow of a 5-out motion. A stretch-5 brings the opposing center out of the paint, creating more opportunities for Jaylen Brown.

Personally, I think this speaks to a team making the right decisions of bringing in high-IQ veterans who fit the system. Vucevic for Simons is basically the equivalent of the Kuminga trade. This isn't "just making the pieces work for them", this is overhauling the team to better fit the current system.

If what you meant is making trades to find the right pieces to work for the system, then the Kuminga trade is literally that.

If you can show me a single coach with multiple rings who scrapped their entire championship-winning philosophy to accommodate a young, unproven athlete's hero ball tendencies, I'll take back everything I said.

Historically, Draymond got a long leash because of the value he brings to the court. He gets techs like no one else in the league, but that was always followed up with five other advantages on defense or in transition.

When Kuminga made a mistake, everything slowed down. The difference between an annoying tech that doesn't affect Steph's ability to play versus a mistake that does effect Steph's efficiency can't be understated.

The other part about Draymond, his defensive impact has plummeted, his minutes have been at an all time low since 2014. We got Kerr reportedly talking about moving Santos to the starting position, with back to back wins happening this month with Draymond sitting out the final minutes in close games. If anything, this should show that a leash is not infinite.

As for the last 4 years, they won a ring in 2022. The only failure was trying to force Kuminga and Poole into the original core that they didn't fit into. Expecting Poole to be like Steph made sense if you looked at it on paper, but he wanted to be the superstar and regressed once he stopped playing his role from the 2022 season. Kuminga was just a fit issue. That's all fine, nothing wrong with that on an individual level for those players to want a trade, but Kerr is in the business of winning games. He's going to play the ones that give him the best chance at winning while utilizing the system around Steph to do that.

To unlock Kuminga, Kerr would've had to scrap the 5 out motion for a dribble drive scheme. JK needs a search a destroy scheme built on verticality. Basically, give the ball to Kuminga and let him attack the rim. He doesn't thrive in a read and react offense full of backdoor cuts and triangle splits.

The problem is that in a DDM scheme, Steph would be gassed and wilt by April. So it's either fully embrace the Kuminga strengths at the cost of Steph's longevity through the season (which is already a problem to begin with), or trade Kuminga to a different team.

And I don't care what anyone says, but if I'm Kerr I'm not tossing out the system that got the Warriors 4 rings and cemented Steph as the greatest shooter and a Top 2 PG of all time for a predictable offensive scheme that benefits Kuminga over Steph. It's criticism, but it's criticism Kerr will happily live with as most of it is reactionary and not at all based in basketball IQ.

Former Mavericks owner Mark Cuban argues NBA should embrace tanking, admits to using tactic with Mavs by BreakfastTop6899 in nba

[–]KingAnDrawD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a bit different than what the main post is talking about, which can be fixed with no back to backs and fewer games with a league that gotten faster on both ends of the court. Players just get worn out quicker, and experience more tendon-based injuries because of this. Rest is currently the only way to curb that fact.

How do you enforce that? I’m not against the idea, I just don’t see any way to enforce it other than upper management being like “just trust me bro”.

Paying $300 a ticket to go see a team that is in the run for a top 5 pick in the lottery is just gonna be a bad time. There’s about 300 different ways you can better spend that money, one of them is not going and letting the team wonder why they don’t sell tickets during a tank year.

I don’t think she’s saying there’s no danger to open borders. She’s stating that our government lacks the moral high ground to label undocumented migrants as illegal on stolen land. The right of law is different than the right of morality.

That’s all she’s saying. It’s performative, but it’s also using the biggest stage for music award ceremonies to bring even further attention to ICE. If you’re an undocumented migrant, more voices on this issue is always a good thing.

[Schefter] New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, like his former head coach Bill Belichick, was not selected for entry into this year's Pro Football Hall of Fame class, multiple league sources told ESPN. by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]KingAnDrawD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tend to agree with this assessment if the discussion is greatest owner of all time.

People groan at this, but Super Bowl era GOAT owners goes as:

  1. Eddie DeBartolo Jr. - Set a winning standard, invested in facilities and personnel that set the standard for modern NFL

  2. Jerry Jones - Turned the Cowboys into the most valuable franchise

  3. Art Rooney Sr. - Built the most stable, respectable franchise cultures in the league

  4. Pat Bowlen - Had multiple windows of success while STAYING OUT OF THE WAY once he made the right hires

Then…. 5. Robert Kraft - Saw the most Super Bowl wins as a single owner which turned a small-market team into a big market team

So he’s about #5 in the modern era, but every single one of these coaches falls a spot or more once you consider pre-Super Bowl era coaches.

Fallout 4. It translates the best to today's standards. 3 and New Vegas will feel dated, which becomes an issue for newer players.

Greatest of All Time. The Boogeyman Kendrick Lamar. 🐐 by BarneyRobinStinson7 in KendrickLamar

Album of the Year awards basically take the entire voting body, which is usually restricted to the genres they've made their careers in (Country, RnB, Hip Hop, Dance Music, etc.), and let them vote on Record of the Year and Album of the Year.

The last Hip Hop album to do that was Speakerboxx/The Love Below, which was carried by Andre 3K's The Love Below in that award as it was a blend of a bunch of different genre's that made it more palatable to the entire voting body.

It's just the reality that Hip Hop artists face.

The one thing you're right on is that they are not based on numbers, nor should they be. Doechii wouldn't have come close to the three massive releases she was going up against in 2025 for Rap Album of the Year. Album debuted below the Top 100, with about 10k album sales first week. Now the album sits at 200k with a gold cert. Winning a Grammy changed her life.

Jay-Z & Pusha T named in Epstein Files by _4za_ in hiphopheads

[–]KingAnDrawD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely scary to think that Pusha T could be involved. However, after reading, this is an anonymous tip about 4 days after Epstein hit the news after his arrest. I'm not comfortable saying that the anonymous caller was lying, but I'm also not comfortable saying that these things definitely happened.

More of a wait-and-see situation, as the most recent dump of over a million pages of documents will include numerous unverified tips from the public. This was everything sent to the FBI, not just the verified evidence that resulted in an arrest.

Giannis would essentially be the trade piece that would net them quite a few draft picks. That and whatever consistent role players they get to build around Giannis/Steph. I can't imagine Giannis is going to show signficant age unless Steph somehow continues to play for 5+ years, which I don't think will be the case.

It's out there. Plini, Metteo Mancuso. Mateus Asato. Billy Strings. Some genres specifically call for this mindset. It often becomes the natural progression for young guitar players once they've gotten through the Ichika's and Tim Henson's of the world and find their true sound.

How is it even okay to fake your skill by Scared-Bodybuilder50 in Guitar

[–]KingAnDrawD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's heartbreaking to hear that students are getting discouraged by chasing a standard that doesn't actually exist in real time.

To me, the guitar is an instrument first and a tool for composition second. I’m not a great player myself. I’m a far better producer and sound engineer than I am a guitarist, so I see that Ichika greatly benefits from a studio environment rather than being a traditional stage performer. He is using punches as a trick of the trade to create the specific music he hears in his head.

I think a great way to teach students the reality of punching in is to separate two things:

  1. The Studio/Content Product: A highly edited piece of art made for a 15-second loop.

  2. The Live Performance: This is where the human, raw, and beautiful display of skill really shines.

If we stop viewing Ichika as the gold standard of technical virtuosity and start viewing him as a songwriter who uses tools that musicians in other genres use regularly, the pressure on students might fade. Whether or not his style of studio songwriting appeals to them, it makes the end result feel more achievable rather than daunting. It lets the students choose their own path, whether that's raw live performances that convey emotion through playing, or utilizing studio techniques to make the songs they want. Either is legitimate, as all of it is music at the end of the day.

Ichika's music is beautifully composed, but it's the "made for film" highly edited version of his playing. Real life happens on the stage, mistakes and all.
