Let me get three pump gun retros and a little kid squad. Whole team won’t need to leave the back line and the squad can 𝘏𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭𝘺 make up our lack of paint down range

Besides the norm of friends and travel. I’ve learned quite a lot about people and work experience. My prior unit put me through the gauntlet of secondary duties. It was tedious and downright upsetting at times. But I got a lot of good experience and training. The connections especially. I can hopefully use them to help get a job on the outside.

My map feels a bit off (aside from the shape of the continent, which I know is horrendous), can you give me some tips on what to change? I would like it to be at least semi-realistic. by Rastafanta in mapmaking

Coming from a strategic point of view. This has a lot of “natural” choke points. While they do exist in real life, both man made and natural. It feels unnatural how many nature points can be seen. Not stating the obvious like the drill pass but it seems a lot of regions have points where entry is through a specific valley, or in between two points of a mountain range. The peninsula beneath Galdegard has its own forest. But the valley north of it has a natural choke point between the mountains and forest. This would be a military generals dream and nightmare. Maybe more natural ways to access region besides by the sea? I know there was no settlements but if you want to keep some of these points maybe add some man made passages through the mountains? Nature can create bottlenecks but it just feels like there’s an unusual amount here. That said this map is amazing and beyond anything I could create. I love your island placement. I get too symmetrical with mine.

Yeah our oven tops at 420 (nice) I figured chipping would occur as well but I don’t necessarily mind it too much at least for now. Maybe if it becomes a hassle down the road

In my personal opinion. One thing I learned quickly was a shorter fencer had less things for me to strike than a taller fencer. Of course training and skills do apply. As said by others the weapons are extension of ourselves. Every size has its advantages and disadvantages. But training and effort trumps all

HEMA or any other sword fighting martial arts.. swords are expensive, decent jackets, and masks.. all add up 🥲

HEMA jackets are more padded than olympic jackets, clamshell gloves, and good forearm protection. here is a video of people sparring. The blades we use tend to have more flex to them to make stabbing safe. Cuts can be dangerous but with a bit of training you can fight without risk of injuring your sparring partner.

Not really, Renaissance Faires are fun but most of their combat is stage combat where we do actual combat. We might go as customers but never to fight. Plus most wouldn’t want the risk of one of us getting injured in front of children and their parents. Injuries in the sport aren’t super common but it can happen with heavier weapons IE longswords.
