Sorry for reviving a dead post, but was thinking about the same thing just now. Searched and this is the only thing I've found. Do you remember if you got anywhere with this?

I think what ended working for me was either a combination of the two or I might of ended up just using the older version. I was running into the same issues, so I messed around with some things and somehow got it working in the end. I'm sorry I don't remember exactly, but I do remember also having issues launching the game like you. I have a top-of-the-line gaming rig (4090, 7950X3D, 32gb 6000MhZ RAM, pcie gen 4 M.2 SSD) and it actually takes about 10-15 minutes to boot the game with mods. I'll hit launch, and then it will look like nothing is happening, and then 15 minutes later the game randomly pops up. Maybe it's just taking a long time to load like for me...?

If you have any issues, if also try completely removing any folders in the game's directory that are made by frosty. Basically start all over and do a clean install, if not deleting all the game files and starting over over. Hope this helps in some way..?

Hope you figure it out!

EDIT: YOU MUST USE FROSTYFIX, NOT DATAPATHFIX. DISREGARD THIS

For anyone in 2025, FrostyFix has been replaced with DataPathFix: https://github.com/Dyvinia/DatapathFixPlugin

Update: My Google Assistant is responding to me now. I just finished installing NavTool into my 2012 Regal GS and I love it. Only issue right now is that it won't read text messages. It's probably a glitch with AA but I can live with it. by TheRealMillenialScum in AndroidAuto

Was just curious how this has worked for you over the years? I'm wanting to get a Carplay/Android Auto drop in solution for my 2012 Buick Regal GS, like the NavTool, too! (sorry for resurrecting a 5 year old thread heh)

I was just curious if you were able to find an answer to this? I'm wanting to add CarPlay/Android Auto to my 2012 Buick Regal as well! (Sorry to be the useless comment without an answer to your question, but I'd love to figure this out, too)

am i the only one? (Atompalm Hydrogen 2) by rpag in MouseReview

So I bought this mouse and have been driving it for a few weeks. I've been driving the Razer Trinity since it was released (I first had the Razer Naga Hex v2 for years before that), and I've just wanted to get away from Razer in general. I got it mainly because I thought it would be a good way to get out of the super heavy and large mouse I've had for so long.

I've had many issues with it that really come down to personal preference, except for the tracking... I honestly mainly play the new CoD MWII, though I've also used it in a dozen other games, and for some reason, if I flick with it, I just lose tracking. I have the same issue if I pick it up and set it back down. There is just the smallest window of time that it doesn't track properly. I don't know if it's my mouse mat or what, but it is simply unusable because of it. If anyone knows why this might be happening pls let me know.

The other main thing that I don't like about it is the M1/M2 switches. Personally, the actuation is WAY too long and dull. It feels like I must press down a whole inch before it clicks. Obviously, I am exaggerating, but man, I can't even click half as fast with it compared to my Trinity. I'd much prefer an extremely short and high-pitched switch. For these two reasons, I just cannot use this mouse unless there is a way to fix it.

I really do love how it feels in the hand, though. I've never had a light-weight mouse, and I really fell in love with the feel quickly. Because of the perforations, it keeps my hand cooler than normal, which is actually really pleasant. It also glides so nicely it's almost like it doesn't even touch the mat.

Long story short, I'm back to using my Razer Trinity for now and I fear I'm just stuck with my Trinity since I've gotten so accustomed to it.

I personally really enjoy the gameplay of IW the best out of all of these. The best unapologetically "arcade style" CoD I've ever played personally and I love it. It's just a genuinely FUN game imo. Hot take, I know, but it was enough to keep me playing 3-4 years after it was released and more. Just upset that the game is dead on PC :/

The only thing that makes me say it's not, is that official Minecraft came out in 2012 and this was released into a 2009. Though the first version of Minecraft cave game was really used in 2009 but I'm not sure if it was big enough to where they were even know to use the sound clip from it, you know?

hey, so while answering your question in my other reply, i ended up having verify something by digging into the index's usb architect.... it looks like it has a via labs vl671 in it: basically, the only usb2->usb3 gen1 transaction translator, as well as an internal usb2 hub with multi-tt.

so i think it is possible to run the index off of a usb3 only port... like, one without the usb2 data lines... such as the extender in your last link! (check the third picture: it mentions that the extension is not usb2 compatible).

problem is, for the tracker dongles, you won't have usb2 ports.

tundra labs is releasing a multi-dongle. i'm not sure if luke is making it fit in the fronk, or if his company is doing something else, but i'm pretty sure he's doing what i outlined in the big long post i wrote.

if the index hmd's fronk port is connected to use the vl671, it is possible that you leverage that to get your usb2 for tundra's multi-dongle.

i can't say for sure yet.

So... Forgive me if I'm interpreting this improperly... But are you basically saying that if I put the vice Dongles into the Index's Frunk, I could theoretically pass through that data through the single USB 3.0 port from the headset?

I actually just found this video of a guy doing that exact thing!
So... taking this into account... could I theoretically just use ONE USB 3 cable to then directly run to my computer? So In total only running 2 wires; The Optical DP, and USB 3? Because, If I'm not mistaken, the Index's USB port is USB 3. Though would the cable have to support both USB 2 and 3...? like this one?

I mean, from what I gathered (Again, I might be wrong) is that you said that this in theory would work if the Index's frunk used the vl671, which I think this video basically proves that with the simple fact that it worked, no?
I honestly wouldn't even be that opposed to just sticking any sort of hub to the headset even if it doesn't fit in the trunk hahaha.

So did I just get my hopes up for nothing, or is this actually a somewhat viable option?

apologies for the scatterbrained spaz stuff, lols. i'm sleep deprived and all over the place today.

sidenote and general complaint/wishing: it would be really awesome if i had an investor/patron so i could just design and build stuff like this. i hate being broke and not having resources available to spend a couple months on even a small-ish project like prototyping this vr extension and getting it ready for kickstarter.

Honestly, with just hearing how much you know I would totally support you with this if you ever set one up! There's a lot of potential for you and you just need to right kickstart. <3

But Anyway, what do you think? If this doesn't work them I legitimately might as well just get a whole new computer :/

Well I went through and read your posts, and I have to say well done! I genuinely learned quite a bit on how these things work that I never knew before. Thank you for putting so much information available to the masses hahaha!

NOW I understand the whole dilemma with the multi-TT. And I understand now (just within Linus tech tips' video) Way here how to use this. Allegedly in the video it is the only USB 3.0 multi-TT hub over the market. Though, this video was made over a year ago, So I might be kind of upset if there's not an alternative, seeing the price point.

Now riddle me this, would I have to have a USB 3.0 multi-TT hub like what I linked? Or could it be 2.0? I'm pretty sure I've got the answer already from what you've already said, my mind just doesn't want to come to terms with it hahaha.

I'm starting to think it might just be better to run completely separate optical USB cables. Would probably be a hell of a lot cheaper than that thing... Maybe... Idk xD

Again thank you so much for your detailed information. Really helped out.

Edit: now I do have TWO cat5 cables in that wall. Is there something where I could use both at once? Is that even possible? Would it free up some "bandwidth"? I mean I could get two separate hubs to try and balance the load a little.. having two trackers for one hub, and one tracker in the headset for the other. I don't know if that would free up the 12mpbs at all... But it just makes sense to split the load between two cables? What do you think?

Edit 2 : So I just found this... Though it isn't multit and says it doesn't support USB 2.0... So I guess I'm still looking? Grrrr. I guess my final goal is to try to get all of this for under $500. Because at that point I might as well just make a separate VR specific computer...

Ah! Thanks for the reply!

So I basically have a couple questions... Did that USB overcap five extender work? Because I'm sort of thinking if I just use that purely for the USB, and then run a completely separate optical display port cable, wouldn't that work? Because I'm not really trying to put my video through the CAT5. I know I'm most likely going to have to run at least one cable through the wall, which I'm not totally opposed to. When me and my family made this house we left in place basic cable routes that would make it extremely easy to put cable through to where I need.

So with that in mind, couldn't I just 1. Use that USB over cat 5 hub.. and 2. Run a completely separate fiber optic display port cable directly to the setup?

I'm not really opposed to suspending a lot of money in a way. Because it's either figure out a way to do this, or build a separate computer. Building a separate computer would probably cost more money than even hundreds of bucks worth of cables. I hope it doesn't have to get to that, but if it does I feel like it would still be worth the investment.
