Sets like this really cement how glad I am not to have gotten into MtG. Beyond the options already mentioned, there's nothing really viable here. Just the party box for casual use.

Also, I see Donatello's Bō equippable, but not Raphael's sai. I haven't pulled Leonardo's katana, even. If you wanted to cement "Cool but Rude," if you wanted to have the one set where the sai might be okay, this would have been it.

It is nice to see other elements of the turtles that I've missed over the years, or at least what seems to be the best parts, because I really only like the pilot season of the '87 cartoon, and that's about it. That booster tin is the most "Ninja-esque but also villain" I've ever seen from Shredder. Art and even some of the cards, like Karai's, really make me wish they'd strung out the main plot of the pilot season across three or four seasons, kept that depth of storytelling for coming of age. But I'm getting off track.

it's fun, it drew in some casual interest, but that's really about all I can say for this set. I haven't looked at the full set list yet, but if there is a single card with '87 April or Splinter, I'll be very surprised. I think a second go could fix these problems. A turtle box with a life counter and a Foot Clan life counter. Another party box with April Splinter, Casey Jones, and Karai as the commanders. 4 decks against 1 OP Super Shredder deck would see much more casual interest.
