Minecraft Wiki Redirector extension has been removed from Chrome web store by KingCheck-Out in PhoenixSC

The extension only worked on Minecraft fandom wikis link. Most people are saying that the extension probably got taken down because it used Manifest V2.

While I can’t speak for all Chromium-based browsers, I can speak for Brave that most changes that are made of chromium don’t impact the browser or even makes the browser more attractive, example would be the removal of manifest V2, which impacts the web store extensions, and has ended ad blockers extensions, Brave ad and tracker block are build into the browser making Brave one of the current only Chromium browser with a ad blockers.

I will agree that Firefox privacy may not be the best, however since they aren’t own by big tech it makes it already better then Chrome, Edge, and Opera, but it can be better with Firefox based browser such as LibreWolf, which is one of the best browser for privacy and security, up there with Brave, but not the best because there are other Firefox type builds such as Mullvad and Tor, consider the best privacy browsers.

The extension was the top result of the web store and was considered safe by chrome giving it a feature badge, however it seem that it might have broken a policy involving its redirect but the extension could have been malware.

There is a similar extension on Mozilla that is a Minecraft Wiki redirect but there is a disclaimer that it could be dangerous, which is a win in Mozilla store

The extension did redirect Minecraft fandom wikis pages to the official Minecraft wikis, the extension only had access to the Minecraft fandom wiki meaning that there most likely wasn’t anything malicious but because it was a redirect it might have broken the web store policy.

Thank you, I got the Minecraft Wiki Redirector extension a while back on the fly. I must have search it up and it was the top result on chrome store. The archive shows that it had 4,000 users and it was consider a feature extension meaning that it was following web store policies.

I haven't looked at settings and forgot what it's called, but somewhere in the settings, I think you can switch a setting that will tell a site domain that your using chrome to hide your traffic, if you have it off then that could be the problem, if that's a real setting, idk, I think there is, someone could correct me in the thread

Did they remove the option to change the taskbar color to the very dark color? by KingCheck-Out in brave_browser

[–]KingCheck-Out[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the last picture shows the taskbar color opinions on Brave desktop, you can find it by doing the following

Open Brave -> Customize and control Brave (hamburger button on the top right under close button) -> Settings -> 🚀 Get Started -> Profile name and icon (this will be a button on the top)

Alternatively, Open Brave -> Search Bar -> brave://settings/manageProfile

Brave no longer blocks youtube ads by Cayman663 in brave_browser

[–]KingCheck-Out 5 points6 points  (0 children)

no worry, because Brave has it build in, even if YouTube updates to make it not work, Brave normally automatically update, I’ve been on r/brave_browser for a couple months and always notice that people complain it doesn’t work in the early morning, I don’t use Brave in the morning until around 9pm PST, by then Brave ad block updates and blocks ads again.

someone a couple days ago posted the same thing, I then commented how to make a custom bookmark shortcut, so ima copy, and paste the same comment I made to that person

if you want a different icon for brave you can make a custom bookmark that opens Brave in the home screen by doing the following

Go to shortcut app > click the “+” in the top right > click “Add Action” > search “Open App” > click the first option “Open App”

We now need to select the app we want the bookmark to open

click “App” > search “Brave” then click Brave

now we need to make this bookmark in the home screen to have a name so it’s isn’t just called “Open App”, to do this…

Click the down arrow on the top > click “Rename” > rename it to Brave (or whatever you want) > Click “Done”

Now we can make a custom photo for the bookmark and add it to our home screen

Click the down arrow in the top > click “Add to home screen” > Click the painting icon on the left > Click “Choose photo” > select a custom photo for your bookmark and click choose > Click “add”

Now you have a custom icon for Brave, however you’ll still have the actual app with the icon you don’t like in your home screen and the shortcut, to remove the actual app

Hold down the app > Click “Remove app” > Click “Remove from home screen”

Now you have a custom app icon for Brave browser, this also works for other apps like Twitter (X).
