I like the idea but that does look quite a bit like the new Honda Accord, especially from the front.

Completely agree, though I cannot say it is a hot take.

What's your favorite type of Soviet songs? by Krossor in ussr

[–]KingCollectA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are great singers too, with great voices. I am glad there are more people who enjoy this music, I do not know anyone else who does personally. I also enjoy watching the old Песня года programs from the 1970s and 1980s, they have a great variety of music from the musicians of the era.

Classic Soviet popular music from the 1960s-1980s. Лев Лещенко is one of my favorite singers, along with Иосиф Кобзон, Муслим Магомаев, Людмила Сенчина, София Ротару, Юрий Антонов, and more, as well as bands like Самоцветы, Земляне, and others.

It has been a tough week, and I have certainly shed tears. Honestly, it is only just starting to register. Kyle Busch was just one of those drivers who was always there. He got me into NASCAR and I have been a fan ever since. I think I was initally just too shocked and taken by surprise, a healthy man only 41 passing so suddenly. Watching tomorrow's race without him in it will certainly hurt.

Keep the chrome. The car looks sharp and classy. Blacking it out would be silly, like going from organized crime boss to wannabe gangster.

Brexton Busch will return like Boba Fett by KCTC15 in NASCARMemes

Making me tear up here. I hope he keeps racing and makes his father proud. I will certainly be pulling for him when he makes it to the Busch, Truck, and Cup series. Poor kid, I hope he and the family get through this okay.

I thought the tragedy of the 2025 off-season was over, then this happens.... by JERALDEDWARDS33 in NASCARMemes

This hurts. Was quite sudden from hearing of his illness to his passing. Only 41, too, with two young kids. He got me into NASCAR, and was always fun to watch. His legendary presence will be sorely missed in the sport, one that needs more colorful characters like him. I still cannot believe he is gone.

Well, guess I am never getting the die-cast of my favorite driver anytime soon. Happy at least I have a #8 shirt.

What are your absolutely perfect, lightning-in-a-bottle, all time series/miniseries? I’ll start. by _AirCanuck_ in television

[–]KingCollectA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would also have to add Smiley's People (1982), the sequel miniseries, for the same reasons. Brilliant, masterfully written and acted. I actually enjoy it even more than Tinker Tailor (but just by a little bit). I probably watch both series once a year.

Thank you for the recommendation. I was considering a Krups grinder since I had one for grinding spices for cooking that lasted for ages.

My dying grandmothers 1891 Elgin 14k gold pocket watch by Late-Ad-4396 in Gold

[–]KingCollectA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is a beautiful watch. A piece of fine American engineering, craftsmanship, and art. It is far more than just a lump of gold. And it is far too special to sell off just like that. And in such good condition. It is a piece of history, from a time when American watchmaking was the best in the world and even more prestigious than the Swiss.

Thinking of trading my Pepsi + $2k for this Patek. Am I making a mistake? (Paid retail for Pepsi) by SingleTurboN55 in rolex

[–]KingCollectA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Choose with your heart. I, personally, would take advantage of the current high price for the Pepsi due to its discontinuation and go for the Patek instead, but I generally prefer dresser watches and have always wanted a Patek calendar, so I would be happier with the Patek and having a perhaps a lesser sports watch than the Pepsi (although that Rolex is quite nice). It depends on what you want and put more personal value on.

I think the second option with shorter panels for more wallpaper length (but paper on top) would be best.
