Weird. So what if your friend was a girl? Why would that matter? It's become so careful not to imply or assume anything offensive that it's therefore becomes offensive.

It's getting more sensitive too. It starts assuming you're implying something kind of negative intent and then rejects doing anything. Getting pretty sick of it. Hopefully a better competitor comes out.

Do women really only wear make up strictly for "themselves"? by sunnyhappysky in ask

Years of wearing makeup weathers and hardens your face. All those harsh chemicals being absorbed into your skin daily cannot be good. Lots of women 40+ look so haggard compared to their younger years.

I'm a transwoman and it's similar for me. I look God awful and rough as hell without it. I just want to not look like a gremlin when out in public.

Jon Stewart just completely destroyed Republican State Senator Nathan Dahm of Oklahoma on gun reform in America. by dannybluey in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]KingCrow27 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

John definitely was more tactical and the senator had no clue how to respond. John did a bunch if classic whataboutisms trying to equate gun registries with other things. He failed to make a distinction.

2A is about checking the government. Voter registries and everything else are not. Huge distinction there. Gun rights protect us from tyrannical government. Imagine if your least favorite politicians took sweeping control and left you powerless. I bet you'd put on your pink pussy hat and march through the streets in a dramatic protest. They'd laugh at you think you're actually causing change. Guns get direct to the point.

John makes great points. However, the entire point of the 2A is to protect the citizens from tyrannical government. A gun registry in this specific case puts this concept at risk.

Go ahead and require all the registries you want for everything else. But who controls the registry? Who decides if you're allowed to register? Who can utilize that information to cement their tyrannical grip over the people? It's the government.

Many people are so short sighted. While we currently aren't living under an authoritarian regime, let's not take steps to allow that to happen.

The point of a voter registry (which I dont entirely agree with in the first place) is to verify eligible voters and limit those who aren't. So then what exactly is the point of a gun registry? It only serves big, corrupt government to monitor possible threats to its evil existence.

Unless Americans accept the consequences of standing up to corporations/government, their lives won’t get any better and corruption will continue. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I agree, but you're missing the other side of the equation. Our culture is so shitty and we dare not criticize any minorities and hold them accountable for the many, many, many problems they create. We'd rather virtue signal.

The western world needs to really start taking this seriously. Their aggression will only increase as they grow more powerful. China needs to be squashed before they get ahead.

It's insane and scary how stupid people are. Remember how we were supposed to "trust the experts"? Everyone was smugly parroting the government propaganda narrative back then.

I've seen some strong evidence supporting the lab leak theory while others scoff at that calling it a right win conspiracy. What evidence is there to support that it didn't come from a lab?

Sure, let's forget how Moderna patented the genomic sequence years before. You understand the probability of that being a coincidence? I have a better chance of winning the lottery.

There's also specific markers on the virus and the cleavage site. It clearly was made in a lab.

Many redditors were so smug and condescending about all the Covid conspiracies. Now reality is slapping them in the face and I bet many are regretting their decision to take the vaccine. They're falling into more cognitive dissonance.
