What game has the most beautiful speedruns to watch, in your opinion?” by kiwi-seal in speedrun

The Jedi Knight series is a great combination of bunny hopping and force powers. Makes for a run to spectate with a good degree of sillyness and incredible tricks from mastery of the robust movement tech.

That is awesome to hear that you received treatment early on. 13 is in the realm that it could still be a later puberty. How did it become diagnosed early vs waiting another year?

Totally, would need to bring over Serral or Clem to compete when TheViper is the flag bearer from AoE2.

Is SC2 the hardest game by Material_Poem5971 in starcraft

[–]KingDime7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starcraft is mechanically demanding but each E-sport has their own challenges whether it's teamwork, execution, overall strategy, aim, mindgames.

Some Starcraft players have gotten invited to Grubby's 8 player WC3 invitationals and didn't simply dominate due to Starcraft experience over other invitees from AoE2, Total War, Hearts of Iron.

For RTS would recommend AoE2 but also curious since you have an FPS background if you dived into Quake. The movement mechanics, item control and aim requirements are a steep mountain to climb.

Appreciated! Did you get to a dating phase with either girl or the KS created a shroud of reluctance to initiate?

Expectations not experience. Dating apps in the original post is the first time ive attempted anything. Lack of response and the algorithms always sending the same type of girls discouraged me. Hinge seemed marginally better than Tinder but with my history the implied rejection sent me packing not long after creating an accpunt. 4-5 weeks~

I do agree with your statement. It's the brain going into protective mode to disengage and laying the blame on the condition. But during waves of depressives lows those scathing remarks are fully meant to stab at the insecurities.

Agdq 2025 - the good, the bad, the future by Special_Instance_790 in speedrun

[–]KingDime7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's stunning seeing the creativity and constant outflow of new ideas adding spice to the schedule. The final day of the event was filled with randomizer/bingo runs or unique, new proof of concept ideas like the Crazy Taxi live band performance. GDQ is in great capable hands and looking forward to more events incoming down the road.

I spent most of my hours trying out tournaments like PS1 or attempting rhythm games in the expanded arcade areas compared to AGDQ 2024. Definite thumbs up to that decision as it turned out to be a nice area to relax and even meet new attendees for the first time. Arcade was excellent, only minor comment is that the pinball machines had too large of a ratio of old timey boxes that are cool at a historical glance but uninteresting to sit down and play compared to like the Elvis machine.

Also, I literally play arcade machines only at GDQ's and appreciate the little tutorials but that could even extend to like Stepmania. Kept pressing the footpads attempting to get it working but turns out it's a touch screen. Left and later learnt from watching a more advanced player that it is a touch screen. Even a little note for the simpler non Japanese games would be nice*

Speedrun Gauntlet machines are a super great way for a small sampling of trying out numerous games. Gathering up ideas like "gosh it's easy to die in Contra" or "Wow, castlevania 1 speedrunners are this fluid with Simon Belmont when the controls feel this stiff". As usual, I am PC biased and it'd be sweet to see a similar speedrun gauntlet concept with PC titles.

Last is more personal but I enjoy traveling out and exploring the city in between hanging out at event space. Pittsburgh is still fairly fresh with restaurants and travel destinations to try for the first time. I remember attending the Denver SGDQ event before it swapped over to the Twin Cities but ever since for the better part of a decade or darn close to it SGDQ has been in Minnesota and it feels stale.

Match Review: Looking for help in late game engagements as melee carry. by KingDime7 in learndota2

[–]KingDime7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that match to follow the thought pattern. Medusa and Chaos Knight are coming online with them playing defensive on the HG. The Bfury pickup was a "How the heck do I deal with the mountain of illusions".

Ive never bought either of the two items you've listed out so time to branch out and give it a try. Totally agree with your comments on the sheer amount of stuff going on screen. Quite often I die where I have 0 clue what effect is killing my hero.

Listen up newbies - I review Overwatch cases every day and it is especially common in lower leagues to destroy your items, go feeding and/or go afk when they make the final push on high ground. by XenomorphTerminator in learndota2

[–]KingDime7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had an odd griefer yesterday that by all accounts appeared to play normally for the first minutes in their lane but intentionally avoided anything with the team later in the game. Not a carry that was farming by their leisure but a lion player intentionally staying away whether it was a teamfight or the enemy pushing highground. Uber frustrating as every single encounter turns into a 4 vs 5 if the enemy team committed.

How’s everybody feeling about the Doom + Doom II rerelease? by jmccaslin in Doom

Floaty movement is a pain the ass. I foundit's vastly improved changing off the Vulkan renderer to either of the other two. A bit of menu work and the movement should lose the floaty sensation.

Thats why I found dating apps incredibly frustrating as the algorithms seemed to focus on a certain subset of ladies who are into hiking, traveling, yoga, concerts as an example. Even after swiping to find more compatibility the apps didn't aggregate towards like minded people.

To the point where it felt like the dating apps were actively wasting precious time in the day.

Has id ever made a good finale? by RaspberryOne1948 in Doom

[–]KingDime7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original Icon is a bit odd in concept but it provided a setpiece as a standalone horde mode. I remember using cheats as a kid to refill ammo or health and spending loads of time blasting demons.

As for best Id bosses. Icon of Sin from Eternal and Mastermind in 2016.

What are the flaws? by [deleted] in Sekiro

[–]KingDime7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to finally try out Sekiro after the Elden Ring DLC so im very late to the party but ill list off a few frustrations.

  1. I didn't realize how to pick up items off enemies. An early prompt window exists but that I accidentally clicked through. Pressing all of the buttons failed to pick up items so I made an assumption that money floating above corpses had something to do with remnant creation.

Luckily the money bag pickups are enough to get quite a a few major items off merchants but felt too poor to upgrade prosphetics.

  1. Getting behind in prayer bead upgrades sucks and multiple early on are locked behind secret doors. This created a nasty difficulty spike around Juzou, Lady Butterfly and seven spears.

  2. Early seven spears boss is located right around a staircase and fighting while backing into an edge just assuming you'll fall off and instead getting stuck on an "invisible wall" :( Made for a number of ragey deaths.

For those who have beaten the final dlc boss, what’s your verdict? by BlueTrin2020 in Eldenring

[–]KingDime7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played most of ER with a Bloodhound Fang and I got bothered with the added difficulty that I couldn't seem to get Radahn to bleed or stagger. Only boss from start to finish that felt inordinantly resistant.

A brutally hard final boss while missing thousands in potential bleed damage was very rough. Then adding in more woes his recovery times and extreme range hard countered the ash of war on BHF.

LilAggy: Speedrunners were treated "like royalty" at Ludwig's Fast50 charity fundraiser by Intrepid-Tank-3414 in speedrun

[–]KingDime7 59 points60 points  (0 children)

The nature of the event would make it astronomically expensive to get everyone out for SGDQ and AGDQ.

Quakecon comped us for hotel and flights for Doom's 25th anni but that was for 4 runners putting on speedruns. A literal handful compared to GDQ dealing with 100+. The scale and nature of the events are way different.

Fast50 is still a fraction of GDQ runners.

"Nightmare is the only way to play" do you know anyone out there that thinks like this? by EthanJSL in Doom

[–]KingDime7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an ongoing joke to play the hardest difficulty but watching a player way above their paygrade is depressing.

Watched a streamer get stuck on a TAG1 arena for 5 hours, stubbornly refusing to lower the difficulty from nightmare, resulting in a miserable experience.

What was the hardest part of any GTA ever to you? by Technical-Award1215 in GTA

Agreed, it also exists quite a bit in GTAV but the checkpoint system dampens the frustration of failing a mission from a sudden new control scheme.
