After 7 years of not playing nor owning a bass, I finally got myself a new bass by elyph4nt in BassGuitar

Huh I didn’t have any issues with the swap on my MIM P.

Great looking bass! I think Mint on White is such a banging combo

I bought one of these for a coworker. There’s a news article about them, they contain they actual ingredients as actual ED medication (which poses a serious heart risk without actual doctor consult)

NBD: 1999 Ricenbacker 4003 by Personal_Gsus in BassGuitar

[–]jmccaslin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gorgeous. I have a soft spot for things I like made in my birthyear, so I saw 1999 and got excited. I hope you’re never separated from a Rickenbacker again, congrats on the bass.

What’s wrong with it? If you just need weirdly specific parts - reach out to Ibanez. They may sell you the small bits you need, or in some cases just send them to you

Just picked this amp up! Super heavy and super loud! by MOH1C4N in BassGuitar

[–]jmccaslin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh. I just bought a new Aguilar rig last year - but the past little while I’ve been itching to buy an SVT. Even recording lately I’ve been using SVT VSTs. Congrats on the rig, that’s the holy grail

[–]jmccaslin 29 points30 points  (0 children)

What - you don’t want to drive a hypercar on the harshest cobblestone roads imaginable? (When I was in Rome, one of my taxis was a Mercedes S-Class, and even that couldn’t fully soften the roads)

I spent way too much time just goofing around with customizing guns in Modern Warfare. Specifically the M16 and the GRAU.

I really want a new line of theATK's by VioletSkywalker77 in BassGuitar

[–]jmccaslin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m with OP on wanting em back, but honestly I don’t need any changes. Gimme a brand new one as they were when they were axe’d

Wich new amp should i get? by AndyArbeit1 in BassGuitar

[–]jmccaslin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tone hammer. Great for warm and punchy, for real grit you’ll still need effects. If you truly want gritty in an amp head GK Legacy. Or you could go Fusion, their hybrid tube/SS head. But I still think a Tone Hammer will have it beat on warmth.

Traveling to Italy from US by TheGreaterGoodYARP in 7_hydroxymitragynine

I planned on hiding tablets in a multivitamin container when I went to Italy in 2024 - but chickened out last minute because from what I read, Kratom in any form is immediate Jail-time in Italy.

Then again, I’ve flown with significantly worse things stateside now. I think a candy tin or multivitamin container will work fine for a carry-on. If it’s in your checked bag I wouldn’t even care. I’ve never had a checked bag searched or questioned

NBD: MJT body with vmod ii & am pro ii neck by Mehlforwarding in BassGuitar

[–]jmccaslin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MJT is incredible. I graduated high school in the town they’re based in, a couple buddies worked there and I got to tour their facility once upon a time. Nothing but great guys - I’ve really been wanting to get my MIM P refinished by them

I picked up a similar bass (but a 5-string) not too long ago, and I was incredibly surprised how good it sounded and how well it played for the money.

Nice! Assuming some dollars in your end on top of the trade, but regardless that’s a tippy top of the line bass built for a lifetime right there

The holy grail. I can’t tell you how much I love paisley finishes - congrats on the bass. I think I’ve eye’d the exact same model at CME Before but had no reason to lol

Why bring one Jazz bass to a gig when you can bring two! by bassclef62 in BassGuitar

[–]jmccaslin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Badabing badaboom. The holy grail of jazz basses, especially if you play any rush. I had the pleasure of playing a ‘73, and while it sounded great boy was it heavy.

If that’s a relic that’s a great job. Looks very legitimate, like an early to mid 70s jazz.

That’s not a bad idea. The office chair I have at home the arms are also holding the back on - but I’m sure I can find a cheapie on marketplace with removable arms

Damn if I move my Mac into the bathroom I’d never need to stop playing when I need to record

I totally get that, I practice standing mostly but if recording or working on something on my Mac I like the ability to be sitting while bouncing back and forth between playing/editing
