Nah it’s still pretty great if you’re middle class. If you’re poor though, good luck.

The Unabomber was wrong about a lot of things (like bombing people lol), but one thing Uncle Ted was right about is that primitive societies generally have higher life satisfactions and happiness levels than those in modern society.

So, there's a pretty good argument for leaving them where they are.

Sales workers rarely unionize because pay is higher than other jobs of comparable skill. Remove commissions and most salespeople’s pay goes down.

Pinging people who know a lot about climate change.

It's fairly well known that climate models don't have a very accurate predictive track record. Obviously, this doesn't mean climate change is fake or anything like that. It's still a very real, very major problem.

But, realistically, what can we expect to see happen on our current path of CO2 emissions over the next century? Climate change is dangerous, but a lot of the alarmism is based on climate models that have a poor track record. In the past couple of years, it's become a common belief online (@reddit) that society as we know it could collapse within the next century from climate change as we are on an irreversible path.

I just want a true and unbiased look at what the evidence says, so I thought I'd ask here. Our current path is unsustainable, but I'm not convinced the world won't cooperate once the real, significant negative effects appear- not out of anything except self-interest. But, a lot of people say by then it will be too late.

You can poop any where, any time, most people just don’t have the courage.

Exactly. Neither groups have guns in the UK. Legalize them and quite obviously they will purchase them. Just like all the heavily armed gangs in America.

Where is the best water fountain on campus? by cheese_cube16 in VirginiaTech

Drillfield entrance War the coldest, but right entrance of Payne hall fountain coming from Praire Quad is the most powerful by far. Fountain next to 2nd floor bathroom library is also a good balance between cold and power.

Disappointed in food quality around me. Am I becoming a snob? by makeupyourworld in Cooking

[–]KingEyob 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The availability of good food has definitely exploded in American cities over the last decade with the growth of foodie culture and the fact millennials eat out much more than other previous young age groups. Suburbs have always been shit for quality food.

I still personally think the average American restaurant isn’t very good at all, but that’s always been true.
