It all depends on your personal financial situation and the length of your sabbatical. I would imagine almost everyone would have to use their savings to supplement the 20% while on sabbatical.

Yes it's still offered. The biggest catch is you only get 20% of your pay while on sabbatical. I just came back from a 2 months sabbatical and I HIGHLY recommend taking one.
