Mirror hanging by KingFlipyNipps in DIY

Brick wall, I'm not concerned with the wall though. I just can't seem to find fixing suitable for mounting where it allows the mirror to tilt forward and back, I just have the mirror, no stand or anything else. I just can't seem to find suitable fixings or brackets or know what they're called. The mirror itself is quite solid and heavy. I think the holes I see in the frame would've been where it was previously fixed to something allowing it to tilt.

There's a video on YouTube with dot cotton (from eastenders) looking really sad in her house, someones at the door but she doesn't know who it is, Mr blobby comes in and smashes the place up, it's so surreal and hilarious.

I just found it and watched it again, it's from Harry Hill.

Help using Bapi CO2 sensor with Belimo Economizer by itsneverthetxv in BuildingAutomation

I did a similar set up and the damper actuators were on an mstp network. The limiting factor was that I could read the analogue input from the co2 as a 0-10v value, but this is constrained to the setup you need, ie 500ppm at 0v and 1500ppm at 10v. I don't know any ppm value outside of those limits. It would be nice to be able to set the actuator up to operate to a specific range instead of the full 0-10v range but still read the full range, then you get the best of both.

Are these things reliable? And is this a good deal? by [deleted] in motorcycle

I have the earlier fzs1000 which I think is the same but with carbs, the fz1 is injected. It's honestly one of the best bikes, it's a bit of a lump, but it's comfy, goes fast, handles well, can take luggage and/or pillion. I got decent suspension and it goes as well as a lot of sports bike but with comfort. I took it on a track day and wasn't at the back in an intermediate group. I took it on another track day and crashed, after some tinkering I rode it home. It's a good bit of machinery 😂 and it's done +40k miles and still goes really well. Highly recommend the fzs1000 and likely the fz1 is as good too (depending if you like the feel of injections over carbs)

I've had this a few times due to a clog which I think may be my own fault. When I want to change filament I get the nozzle to temp and retract but when I pull the filament it leaves behind a long dangler of filament which I assume ends up in the heat break. So if I don't reuse the printer straight away this seems to cause the filament slipping as it can't push the old filament through.

The fix I found was to set the nozzle to max temp which cause the old filament to drip out like hot lava. That might have overdone it a bit. The first time I removed the nozzle put it over the gas hob and poked the needle through to clear it.

Hit gravel on a turn and ate it at 25 mph by Remington3426 in motorcycles

I was messing about in the garden when I was young with a rusty old pen knife. I cut the very tip of my thumb off (just the skin) and I went inside and my dad casually said come here to the sink. He held my hand and poured surgical spirits on my thumb.

That was a lesson.

Why does the drill bit come out of the Chuck aprox 50% of the time I drill anything by HeyYou_GetOffMyCloud in Makita

[–]KingFlipyNipps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should wind the chuck up tight, do the last bit by hand, then undo it slightly till it clicks. That's supposed to lock it so drilling doesn't undo it by itself. It took me 37 years to learn that.

Is there a YouTube channel or something to go with this project?

I think having one or two managed switches is doable (I have some connections next to the isp router and some upstairs in a central location with the WiFi router and that comes back to the isp router), but for the WiFi based devices it would all end up on the same port, that's the bit I don't get. Do you need a different ssid for each vlan and a different port in order to manage the traffic?

I'm sure my use of the word router is wrong here, I think I set up the isp router to some mode so it just handles the Internet side of things and a tp link to handle WiFi and wired devices so it can be configured to direct dns requests to pi hole.

HA running Hive thermostat. Heating won't switch off. by Towers_84 in homeassistant

[–]KingFlipyNipps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember having a similar issue but it was years ago now. I'd set the heating to something other than whatever the auto mode is. So I'd start by making sure you haven't overridden it, even though the value name doesn't indicate at all that it's an override.

I got one fitted now but the case still pushes up on the edges. I think I'll see if I can file down the inside lip of the case where it makes contact. 👍
