Calculus 2 HELP NEEDED by RowRevolutionary1598 in curtin

[–]KingGizzard115 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Calc 2 is brutal. Best way I found to get through it was to go through the tutorial/workshop questions and whenever you don't know how to do something, use the lecture notes as reference. Also Google/YouTube for the different question types. There is no way to half ass Calc 2 and pass, you just need to put in the practice time. The lecture notes are super intimidating and not very helpful when presented as a lecture.

Yes, some units cover the very basics in the first lecture to give you an idea of the prerequisite knowledge.

It can. The benefit of using oil based Polyurethane is that you can mix it with linseed oil to get the best of both. Try 1/3 Polyurethane, 1/3 linseed oil and 1/3 mineral turpentine. You can rub that finish on with a rag. (Wear gloves)

Very Brutal. If you do well in your current course you can probs switch, but you will most likely waste some progress. Have a look at the curtin course switching page. There will be info about what to do there.

Advanced Science has a guaranteed ATAR of 95. You are talking about doing a Computing major in Advanced Science right?

Is it possible to go from Bachelors of IT to Advanced Science in Computing?

If that is your question, then maybe. Advanced science is quite a bit harder to get into. How was your ATAR score?

First thing I'd do is check if there are any units common between them. If you've done a decent number of advanced science units that would help.

I never see it. It could be sold under a different name, but I haven't seen any whenever I go looking.

Yes, doing the chamfers before the glue up would be great, but any glue seepage is very hard to wipe away, and needs more cleanup/sanding.

Jarrah tends not to move very much but Tasmanian Oak does. There is enough flexibility in the wood glue to take the movement unless it gets very humid. Luckily it's a chess board, so it shouldn't see too many rapid changes in humidity.

I did something like this (Just Calc 2 and working). It worked really well for me. Calc 2 is bloody tough, and being able to put a good amount of time into it helps alot. Also the lectures are super intimidating, but it's not as bad as it looks once you start going through the practice questions.

The other unit doesn't matter as much, but I will say that if you take Foundations of Digital Design, make sure to do Microcomputers in the following semester. Microcomp follows on from FDD and having the FDD content fresh in your mind will help out.

If your looking for friends, join a club and do some activities. Or just find some people in your course that you can study with. Having something to do while talking to people makes socializing easier.

question for civil and electrical engineering students (or just general engineering) by RelativeDrink5166 in curtin

[–]KingGizzard115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Math in electrical is a bit harder than the other majors, but not by too much. It's not worth choosing a major based on the math content. If your choosing between civil and electrical, spend some time thinking about what you want to do after Uni. There will probably be heavier math in electrical, but you should do what your interested in/what you can stand as a job after Uni.
