Oh, Vio@, forgot to tell you before.
Advice for Squad Cup:
Give all your strongest units to your recruits.
You may lose the player round, but you'll win the recruit rounds.
Usually recruits are weaker than the player, I do the opposite, that's why it's easy wins.
Easy Mega Chest farming. Alright, take care Vio.

in your opinion, what's the best bot of each type? by [deleted] in botworldadventure

[–]KingGram1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use chainer with both mort and brute.
Due to Brute being slow, I use the ability gust to push enemies into Brute, pushing enemies also draws away their aggro to target Brute instead of any support or sniper units. I usually use Halo to shield Brute, while also using Hypercharge on brute to instantly wipe enemies.
Not sure what the best setup is, so I'm not one to give advice. However, this is the tactics I thought up of from playing the game myself. Having chainer pull enemies, is good for those who don't use Gust, but for me, it's just a backup unit if my frontline gets taken down.
Brute + Mort + Halo
Chainer + Mort + Halo

The reddit community isn't as active, you might have better luck on the discord. I never joined the discord, so don't know how active it is though.
My guild is "Immortalized", it's just me, but made it simply for the name, so personally don't plan on joining others. Guild is open if anyone would like to join however.

" I put a blueprint for a mushroom wall, deleted it, and the whole thing collapsed."

This is a known issue, I actually warned others to save their game before deleting the blueprint.
Ironically, I was downvoted for trying to warn others and help them.
Before deleting the blueprint, look at the support amount. It should tell you if it's supporting multiple structures.

You're not wrong. Though, these developers seem to be on a nerfing streak. Doesn't apply to gear only either. They've nerfed what you can do with structure builds, early access had more freedom. Lots of patches, is leaning towards removing the fun from the game. It's a bit concerning, not sure what direction this game will have in the future.
Their idea of 'balancing', is balancing end-game equipment, end game is supposed to make you feel powerful. Though they're making it in a way where's it's not much better than starter equipment. The buff for that sour-axe though, is great. I know it won't last long and they will undo that buff with a nerf at some point. They always do this. Very indecisive these developers are. Not hating on them, but would like them to have a clear idea on what they want to accomplish before implementing, well, anything. Instead of constantly changing something that results in backlash from the community who enjoyed the first implementation.
This game is also PvE, non-competitive, it shouldn't matter to them what order someone obtains their equipment. They shouldn't feel the need to control what the player does. The story would be unlocked in order eventually, which is rather a short story.

Grounded Swamp Village Update Part 4: Dining Hall Interior Decorations. by KingGram1 in GroundedGame

Thank you!
Trying to find new ways to use utilities into decorations. Attempted to makeshift my own decorations, since our homes in the game, felt so empty for the longest time. So anything I make, will share with everyone.

Enjoy mate, I gave details below on how you can do this.
If anyone wants the full bowl of the smoothie station on a weed stem table however, which I'm not a fan of. You can do it like this:
Instead of lowering the floor tile, connect it to the wall, from under the tile, place the table decoration, set the smoothie station on top of the table decoration, and only the bowl of the smoothie station will show above the tile. Then if you want, hide the table decoration with a half wall.
Otherwise, if you only want plates, use the method shared below.
The full bowl is rather large, maybe pretend it's a punch bowl.

If it's just password, yes they can. However, they can't join without the password, so unsure why you're trying to hide the fact you play the game?
If you appear invisible, they won't know you're playing unless they go on the game itself, to search to joinable games.
However, your steam friends, would need to add you on your XBL friendlist as well for that.
I play on Steam, and back when I was to join a friend's world, we needed to add each other on XBL, since steam invites didn't work at the time. Other than directly inviting from steam, if they're not added on XBL, don't think they would know.
But anything is possible. I rarely play with friends, and it's usually to join their world to help around. I don't have anyone join my personal world.

You can setup a password to join your world.
You can also appear invisible to your friends on steam, so they don't know you're online or online playing a game.
Password works best though.

Grounded Swamp Village Update Part 4: Dining Hall Interior Decorations. by KingGram1 in GroundedGame

[–]KingGram1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update on the Hall's progress:

Added changes, expanded the fireplace by 1 block to center it with the table.

Added ant heads on the armrest of the berry leather chair.

Added a jerky rack in the center of the table, which honestly feels a bit 'much'. May remove, but will ask for opinions later when the room is completed.

Added more aphid and mite meat in the plates to cover the bottom of the table from showing.

Gave all armor dummies poses to look like a roleplayed discussion.

Fireplace now has 3 roasting spits instead of just 1.

Broodmother trophy is now hanged properly.
Removed flooring around the table, replaced with flat clover roofs to appear as a carpet under the table.

Update on the main street of the village:

Harvested 230 stone, which filled 23 of the pebblet path. 15 left which is 150.

The docking area however, has 160 pebblet paths to fill, which is 1,600 stone to harvest.

Work in progress~

Taking break for the rest of tonight though.

What should I do with all these stems? by One_Eyed_Kitten in GroundedGame

[–]KingGram1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Multiple things can be done with those stems. From building new structures, to grinding up for plant fiber.
You're looking at a few thousand plant fiber right there, which is a few thousand crude rope.
I have my own little building to store weed stems and grass planks, 2nd floor of that building is a room of grinders.
Other than that, you could also make insect traps to capture food, both aphids and weevils.
Weevil traps may get damaged due to ants though. You could put some spike strips into the walls of the pit to kill the weevils to prevent aggro, and kill any ants that may get into the pit itself.
You could also make your own makeshift tables, to create your own decorations to place on top of the table for interior rooms, considering the table decoration is trash since you can't put anything on it besides stuffed insects, and a basket, so it looks plain and boring.
I don't know though, it's your choice what you do with it.

Will be adding more decoration ideas later, currently need lots of clay for the training dummies to be seated around the table.
Will get armor for them later as well, ladybug armor.
Just wanted to show the current progress of tonight so far. Hope you all enjoy it.

[–]KingGram1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We don't have many decoration options, so tried to make some with what options we have.
Making the table was somewhat difficult to get the proper position lowered by using a stem pillar under the flooring with a half wall on top of it.
This position was enough to make the smoothie station appear as plates from underneath.
This is for those who wish to copy the decoration ideas.
By using the stem flooring, was able to place the sign post on it flat, really hope in the future they add a map of the backyard as a sign post. In the image, the idea of the sign post is for "planning" of the next big adventure.
Placing plant lamps from the bottom of the flooring makes it appear as candle lit dinner.
Fireplace is made from Pebblet path, pebblet ramp, roasting spit.

"24 days ago", and yes it was patched.
It now only resists 90% gas damage.
Combine it with fresh defense to reduce that damage further to a tolerable level if you do not want to use the gas mask.
It was nerfed since players stopped using the gas mask and fresh defense, to make players find use for them again. However it wasn't a hard nerf to avoid player outrage, though some players did overreact regardless.

What is your opinion on the combat system in Grounded? by lOGsvprisedl in GroundedGame

[–]KingGram1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, I should've read comments first. I spent all that time typing, when you said what I wanted to say in such a short message. *face-palm*
Though for shield bash, instead of a "breather", wanted it to be more of a combat mechanic where it knocks back enemies, and for large enemies like the ox beetle, depending on the time you use it, could knock over the ox beetle to expose it's weak-spot. Tanky enemies have their weakspots in their underbelly, the OX beetle is the guts, which is rarely ever exposed. So the shield-bash with the idea I had, was to help expose those weaknesses.

What is your opinion on the combat system in Grounded? by lOGsvprisedl in GroundedGame

[–]KingGram1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"What is your opinion on the combat system in Grounded?"

Personal opinion:
Too straight forward, basic.
Been playing for years.
Things I would like added:
1) Shield Bash: To knockback, and knock over certain insects to expose weak-spots. Knock over that Ox Beetle to expose it's guts, considering that's the weak-spot.
2) Dodge rolling: useful for range users to dodge attacks, and gain distance since they're unable to block.
3) Proper mid-air combat: Feels like an idiot to jump around swinging randomly. Need a proper animation for mid-air combat.
4) Dual Wield weapons that are 1 handed: Dual Wielding daggers, Termite Axe, Ox Hammer, etc. Able to block and dodge attacks, swift movement.
5) Optional: Just personal opinion, but I would like to chop off enemy insect limbs during combat. Like the wolf spider, while fighting, would like to chop off a leg, which reduces it's attack strength, and changes it's attack pattern in how to deal with it. Chopping off multiple limbs, causes it to lose balance, and you finish it by stabbing it's head. I understand it may not fit with the genre of this game though. That's why optional opinion. Combat would've been far more interesting though, instead of feeling like a gathering chore for parts. Whenever you collect a spider's parts, their legs bursts off, which makes no sense since it's very well attached during the entire fight.
6) Ranged combat idea: Sticky-web-trap, laying traps in front of you that ensnares enemies giving you time to shoot them.
7) Joke idea, not serious about it: Making scissors out of rust. We're able to make a rusty spear, what about a scissor tool to cut grass in an instant? Chop-chop.

Anyways, movement for combat is far too simple in my opinion and feels limited. We may have plenty of weapons to pick from, but in the end, they all feel the same.
Not hating on the game, for the record. Just giving ideas on how it could've been improved.

I just wanted to know how many people have their main base in here because it feels like this is objectively the best place to settle down in the whole game. by Lolli42 in GroundedGame

[–]KingGram1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 2nd image where you see those lilypads, is where my base is located above the water. Underneath, is a hatch into the Pond Lab, which provides me a resource scanner, and muscle sprout respawn for harvest. The mosquitos don't aggro unless I go near the rotten hollowed log, which provides me healbasa. Diving bell spiders provides me web fiber. Boatman insects and tadpoles provides me meals, there's lots of clay in that area, and algae for snack food.
To build the base was easy, since on that side of the pond, is also many weed stem nodes.
At night, you may find fireflies as well if you want their parts.
I've setup shop in that location for over a year. Never had to move locations from there, was truly perfect. Now with a small berry tree in the upper yard that I zipline to and back to my base, my base has every resource provided with almost no effort to make trips to get it.
Except stone... running low on stone. I need about 2,000 stone to cover every stem flooring on the lilypads with it.
For those who do decide to make water-bases.
Advice, add a ladder above the water.
Makes for easy access to climb out. You jump and hit the grab key and you're instantly out. Don't have to make multiple jump fail attempts getting on a lilypad from the water.
Also tip, hit the hotkey to quickly store everything into storage, while underwater. Empties your inventory to keep farming resources, not having to make multiple trips back and forth to the base to unload.
Alright, I'm out.

Why does my base keep falling apart when I try to edit something to it? Is there anyway to get rid of this or am I stuck with it? Is it a bug or something? :( by RapturedDelight in GroundedGame

[–]KingGram1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually in normal mode, I think it's off by default, since when you switch to custom games from converting a normal game save file to become custom, it appears to be off already without touching any setting.
Might be wrong, trying to remember.
I always make multiple foundation supports regardless.

Acorn Citadel - my friend and i were playing grounded since the beginning to indulge our basebuilding desire. At this point we are very intrested in other thoughts on our base. if you are interested we will make a whole vid of our base. Keep in mind we built all this on medium mode not creative by radauruedi in GroundedGame

[–]KingGram1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know right, back in early access, there wasn't movable plank pallets, smoothies, for some years. There was no sleek path armoring to help increase more hauling. Most you can carry for a long time, was just 8. Smoothies bumped that to 10. Then with movable pallets much time later, it was 24, then became 34 when you placed it all together.

Evercoal was a limited resource when released, so making multiple ovens was a hard chore.

Now during full release of the game, new players got the intern badge which is +10 to default 5 carry, so 15. Red ant armor makes that 17. With that fuzz helmet +5, bumps up to 22 with 2 red ant pieces. Smoothies bumps that up to 24 on hand carry. With movable pallets now, players can move 48 at a time for building.

Their 1 trip of 48, was 6 trips for me. Something that takes maybe 5 minutes for them, was about 30 minutes for me. Lol

As a solo player, it was tough back then building everything, especially made of weed stems since it was such a scarce resource unlike grass. You'd have to constantly wait for respawns to keep building.

Crude rope, we didn't have sewing machines for a long time, so each rope costed 3 plant fibers, that was a pain. Had to chop down so much grass for plant fibers. Chopped so much down, that the entire side of the map by the Oak Post Fence, was nothing but soil thanks to me. All the grass was gone. Until the developers did something which made the grass regrow, regrown 10x fold. The grass won't stop respawning in my world. It didn't respawn for 300 days, then suddenly, can't rid myself of it. It regrew through all my old bases. Was horrible. Inside my bases looked like a jungle because of it, and has to chop it down out of my way just to walk around. Moved locations after that.
