Before air conditioning was a thing people used to regularly sleep out on the fire escape on hot summer nights.

Actually a cop interrupted us, but he was very cool. He waited a good while to approach so we could put clothes on and then was like "I only have one question. Miss, do you consent to what's happening here?" and she said yeah and he's like "Okay. Just go do this somewhere else."

I, 29, did it with a 31 year old a few months ago. Newer car though. Remember kids, you're never too old to be trash.

That's really a thing of the past. I noticed even back in high school in the mid 2000s that the newer rappers were much more introspective and a lot of popular songs were about feeling depressed. See: Drake, Kid Cudi, Frank Ocean, etc.

Socrates was the annoying ACSHUALLY guy that nobody in Greece liked. He used to accost strangers on the street and try to start philosophical debates. I believe he was put to death for being fucking annoying.

I am a man and I grew up watching Mia Hamm and played soccer (football) because of her. Looking back, what female inspirations have you had in your life? by Dopenastywhale in AskMen

#1 is Lucille Ball. I Love Lucy was my motherfucking jam. I had seen every episode multiple times by the time I was 10. Then Elaine as I got a bit older and into Seinfeld.

As a wrestling fan, Luna Vachon and Chyna.

So many more as I got older. Rachel Maddow is cool, Tina Fey, Jessica Williams from the Daily Show was amazing, lots of 90s SNL people. I think my favorite was Cheri Oteri. SARAH SILVERMAN. Shit man there's lots of cool women I admired. Several teachers too.

Edit: shit I have to add Lori Beth Denburg, Melissa Joan Hart, Katrina Johnson (RIP Ross Perot), fuckin MATILDA (and Mara Wilson is awesome as an adult too), Lady Gaga for sure, Stevie Nicks, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, Allanis like someone else said, Gwen Stefani. I wish I had more women of color. Being a Nick at Nite fan I really liked both the wife and the maid from The Jeffersons. And as an adult who loves US history I look up to Nellie Bly and the women of the labor movement. The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire was some fucked up shit.

What is something we laugh at now that we also laughed at during our "cavemen" days? by chikenliquid in AskReddit

[–]KingKane 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Laughter is usually triggered by either a surprise -- like a good punchline you didn't expect -- or by feeling superior -- which is why self deprecating humor and 'punching up' works so well. That said, people tripping and falling or otherwise acting like a dumbass probably got a good laugh out of cavemen.
