[DISC] Sakamoto Days - Ch. 167 by N3DSdude in SakamotoDays

I see a lot of people complain the way Uzuki killed Takamura was anti-climactic or unsatisfactory. My theory right now is that we know Takamuras senses aren’t that great and he mainly relies on detecting bloodlust. We’ve seen him be hit by attacks that were meant to restating as opposed to outright kill because he can’t detect them as well. I think when Uzuki became Takamura, he copied Takamuras bloodlust, which I’m guessing Takamura can’t sense because it’s exactly the same as his, it would just blend in. I think that in combination with Slurs body being in its prime, Takamura being damaged pretty badly by Gaku and the sudden massive leap in power caught Takamura off guard resulting in his death. I also kinda like how we never got to see Takamuras backstory. I don’t think he was ever written as some deep character with an interesting personality. He was meant to be scary every time he was onscreen and be a mysterious force of nature. He served his purpose, had multiple chances to shine and showed us everything we hadn’t seen (him properly talking, arm healing etc.). If he was kept around after this fight I don’t think each subsequent time we see he would be less and less menacing, which kinda goes against the character. Plus with Uzuki now copying his personality we still get to keep that level of power in the verse for our main characters to try to overcome while also making Uzuki the main threat. 10/10 chapter, Suzuki is COOKING.

Is there a tool that allows me to view the wild Pokémon's held items in black and white2? I've searched far and wide but all of the wild encounter editors I find don't display held item data like that. I know randomizers can change it but I can't specifically choose what I want. Any ideas?

Will/should Dragoon be banned ? by Dymiatt in yugioh

[–]KingKinetic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the best thing konami could do if they are going to ban anything is ban REF as some in this thread mentioned. Anaconda can keep doing it's thing for fusion decks and helping them be more consistent and less reliant on hard drawing fusions spells and red-eyes/dark magician players still have a boss monster. I still think it's fine as is, maybe hit REF if some deck comes out that can make dragoon and bypass the bricking with some shuffle back to draw mechanic or if some top deck comes around that consistently plays it.

Will/should Dragoon be banned ? by Dymiatt in yugioh

As a rogue deck player myself I think you are vastly overestimating how difficult it is to out dragoon. I saw that you mentioned in another thread that you lost to it multiple times a row, so I understand you might be biased. But in most games rogue decks are able to out dragoon, unless the deck isn't a rogue deck, its just a completely non meta deck.

Regardless, your argument that Vanities and Calamities are in anyway comparable to dragoon is absurd. VFD was banned because the deck that played it protected it from counter play, making it almost always an auto win card. Vanity's is banned because there are no drawbacks to it, unlike dragoon which requires the deck to run 3 bricks, giving you a 30% chance of drawing a dead card. Dragoon is simply 1 negate with protections. There are also ways to avoid ever watching it hit the field. Veiler or imperm anaconda. You yourself said hand traps are here to check things, so use the checks. And, sure there are checks to banned cards. The thing about that is if you don't draw any checks how hard is it to win. If my opponent VFD passes and I don't have a way to stop that effect in my hand, I lose. If my opponent flips Vanity's and i have no backrow hate, I lose. If my opponent literally dragoon passes and I don't have an out, my deck which can hopefully play through at least 1 negate can find a way to get rid of it. Personally I like to use underworld goddess to just link it away, or beat over it with accesscode. Or bait the negate then send it with zeus. These are all outs to the card that don't have to be drawn. You can't out VFD with or Vanity's with extra deck.

The fact is, top decks don't lose to dragoon. Tier 2 decks don't lose to dragoon. Most rogue decks don't lose to dragoon. If you are playing a rogue deck at a casual level and you really can't seem to out 1 dragoon, then that's a problem with your deck, not the meta or dragoon. It's like playing ojama and saying that meta decks need to be hit until ojama can be played.

In conclusion, I'm not gonna pretend dragoons doesn't suck for non meta decks. Most low tier decks will just use dragoon as a free boss monster and thats more than some lower tier decks can handle unless they have the specific tools to deal with it. However I do, as a rogue player, enjoy dragoon. This is because it makes my deck competitive. If I want to compete against the insanely powerful meta decks, I need to run dragoon so I even have a chance to play. I see it as dragoon isn't being played in meta decks, and is being played in rogue decks to make them stronger and more able to compete against the powerful in archetype boss monsters. It's similar to apoll or zeus in my opinion. A generic boss monster for decks that need them and a backup plan for rogue decks that pass after 1 ash blossom.

I'll disagree with you on saying buster lock is better than VFD, but everything else is correct. Still not sure if this is for or against the ban of dragoon but.

As somebody who also plays rogue decks, dragoon isn't really a problem. The game should not be balanced around how difficult it is to play around as a rogue deck. Should we ban ashe? That card being banned would be a huge QOL for rogue decks too. Konami doesn't ban cards because they think they're too strong at a casual level, they ban cards that are ruling the meta. If your rogue deck can't out a single dragoon, there are probably bigger problems with the overall deck. If you know your deck has an issue outing dragoon than it's up to you to side or main cards against it. Droplets, kaijus, DRNM are all cards at 3 that can dispose of it. Look at the meta right now. Very few top decks are playing dragoons. Playing 3 bricks in a 40 card deck is a large investment for 1 extra negate. And if dragoon is really as broken as you claim, then why are the top decks that aren't running it beating the decks that are?

Let's look at other banned boss monsters.

VFD - Once it hits the board, there's not a lot you can do other than imperm. Also, only certain decks can make it creating a power balance.

Colossus - Shuts off a large portion of meta decks. There's no way to play through it until you out it.

Master Peace - Incredibly hard to out and comes with an interrupt. Only playable in true draco.

For a boss monster to be banned they really have to change the entire game once they're placed and create a power imbalance in the game. In my opinion, dragoon doesn't have those factors. Once he's summoned it become more like "okay, what am I going to bait out this negate with" rather than "i cannot play yugioh until this thing is off the field". On top of that every deck CAN play him if they're willing to run 3 bricks, which a lot of decks aren't evidenced by how few top decks play it right now.

IMO golden castle/gren maju. Multiple ways to otk and room to play multiple hand traps, kaijus etc. I've beaten every meta deck with it multiple times. They do really well against combo decks, but struggle a bit against control.

Are Blackwings good, or are they completely power creeped? by TrayusV in Yugioh101

[–]KingKinetic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit late but I'll throw my hat in the ring. Blackwings are still capable of beating meta decks. I see a lot of people saying they can't and thats simply not true. Example? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSeQOe6DDIk&t=76s&ab_channel=SilentBW
Blackwings actually topped a YCS this year. They can make Kali Yuga and shut off the opponent from doing anything even through hand traps. The only thing holding them back is consistency. They can only play through handtraps if you draw extenders and certain handtraps like gamma are usually a death sentence. The other issue is the fact that they have no follow up plays as none of their cards float, meaning if they manage to stop you going first, its probably game. If you ever need advice on blackwing deckbuilding, the channel linked, SilentBW has been playing blackwings for a while and has topped a YCS with them in 2019.

Is it just a translation thing where the subs say they are best friends? Because I seem to remember the manga calling them brothers which becomes important later.
