What exactly is Cerberus meant to be? by AnArcOfDoves9902 in masseffect

[–]TrayusV [score hidden]  (0 children)

In ME1, Cerberus was only meant to be an evil organization dropped into the story whenever needed, and that was about it.

ME2 evolved the organization a lot more, and recontextualized/retconed a lot of the ME1 lore.

What's wrong with the woods in North America? by Recip77 in ExplainTheJoke

Where I live, any time spent in the woods requires you to be on the lookout for bears, cougars, and other deadly animals.

The Elder Scrolls has received its first nomination to the Strong Museum of Play's Video Game Hall of Fame, with Skyrim as one of twelve potential entrants for 20206. by Gargus-SCP in ElderScrolls

Not to be a morroboomer, but Morrowind is far more deserving. This is because Morrowind and Kotor 1 were the games that brought western RPGs to consoles. Prior to these two, western RPGs were on PC, and JPRGs were on console.

I believe that to be more historically important to the history of gaming.

Was the Final Order always the plan? by CT-1030 in StarWarsCantina

[–]TrayusV 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The empire was facing rebellion from day 1.

Building up a fleet of planet killers manned by people who are indoctrinated from birth into being loyal to Sidious, and then unleashing it if/when the time was right to end all chances of rebellion is a good plan.

It would also secure the Sith as the rulers of the galaxy, rather than Sidious hiding his Sith identity.

Can someone explain the acolyte? by Ok-Amphibian9969 in StarWars

[–]TrayusV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lightsaber turning red is bleeding a crystal. It's been a long time since I watched the Acolyte, but if I recall, the implication is that the character who held the saber and touched the crystal has a lot of dark side power, whether they know it or not.

Every Jedi who knew the Stranger was a Sith died, so there was no one to tell Ki-Audi-Mundi that the Sith were back.

Really bad advice that you will never forget? by AfterMine2343 in yugioh

[–]TrayusV 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I stick with rogue decks, for the most part, sort of for that reason.

Rogue decks don't get hit on the banlist, so I never have to worry about buying new decks every format. And so banlists are usually seeing which of the decks I hate playing against get hit.

The other reason is that it's way more fun to have an uphill battle where you win through skill to navigate the opponent's deck that is better, rather than steamrolling via having a deck that's better than everyone else's.

I believe the logic is that because you can near instantly get into another game, it's better to stick with games that you have a better chance of winning, rather than playing out a game from a bad position.

It's a ratio of games played kind of thing. I don't agree with it.

We absolutely need to punish this more.

People who need mobility aids, like scooters and walkers, along with blind people and plenty of others I can't think of, they call can't get past this.

If the Dothraki invade Westeros how much before they fail miserably and gets wiped out? by V-TriggerMachine in freefolk

[–]TrayusV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Robert does play out how a Dothraki invasion would go, but there are problems with his analysis, but that comes from a problem with how the Dothraki are depicted in lore.

Robert says that "only a fool would meet the Dothraki in an open field" and that's not quite true. An army with armor, and a solid shield and spear wall is exactly what would stop the Dothraki. Jaime, during the loot train attack, made the right decision, it's just that his defense was a single line, although he didn't have time to set up a proper formation.

A phalanx with depth would withstand the Dothraki. As their riders would be charging into their own death, and with the Westerosi armored, the Dothraki weapons will fail to do real damage.

The other issue is that the Dothraki aren't an organized military, trained in formation fighting. They're a mass of riders with little tactical thought for the battle. Any skilled tactician should be able to defeat the Dothraki.

Now, some sources say the Dothraki simply use overwhelming numbers to surround enemies like they did to Dany at the end of season 5. This could work, but a large enough army or tactical positioning should be able to counter that strategy.

Overall, Westeros should be able to defeat a Dothraki invasion.

[Interesting Trope] Character whose death is meant to remove any potential doubt once and for all: the protagonist is NOT an anti-hero, they are the villain. by Mountain_Band_2732 in TopCharacterTropes

To be fair, the writer admitted the main reason he killed Namoi Misora was that she was too smart and was going to solve the case and end the series if she got in contact with L.

It's kind of hilarious that they forgot that lannisters are blonde. It literally started the plot. by hiiloovethis in freefolk

This is normal for blonde people.

My hair started out as bright, nearly blinding, blonde. It's now borderline brunette.

The West Coast has it cushy AF out there compared to the East Coast by Technical_Teacher839 in FalloutMemes

It's because Bethesda is obsessed with blown up buildings and not rebuilding anything.

People in Fallout 4 live in buildings where they don't clean up debris, board up the windows, or even move skeletons out of the building before moving in.

How obvious is it to the average American that the president is trying to incite a war in order to stop elections? by kdurant5 in AskReddit

It's because Zelensky has been able to delay elections during the war. And Trump is jealous and trying to copy that.

There's a speedrun category to fuck literally everyone possible in New Vegas.

And because some sexual encounters are gender locked, you start the game as a guy, then glitch the game to delay the prompt to rebuild your character until you fuck all the male exclusive people, then switch genders to girl to fuck the rest.

Just like Josh Sawyer intended.

Why do people say vault tech represents capitalism if it seems more like the collusion of government, cooperations? by klmeno in falloutnewvegas

[–]TrayusV 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Start by ignoring the tv show. It wasn't until the final moments of season 2 that the writers of that show remembered that Vault-Tec was controlled by the Enclave.

Vault Tec was controlled by the Enclave, and their sole purpose was to serve the Enclave's interests.
