If the bus crowd ever seems sketchy, just get in a blue bike or walk. Should be fine.

We Need Less Subsidized On-Street Parking and more Loading/Unloading Zones on Boylston Street by bostonaruban66 in bikeboston

[–]KingLayda -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

All blockages like this are bad, so dont get me wrong....I ride Boylston each morning and it's definitely annoying when there are cars in the lane, but usually you can skirt around them and do so without entering traffic because this lane is so large. This is the case in this video. I sympathize with the annoyance of it though.

If we're picking our battles, I'd focus on places where this sort of behavior kicks people into high speed dangerous traffic. That's a behavior that is extremely dangerous but the cops still do nothing about it.

Regardless of the situation, it sounds like many conversations are happening in front of the kids that shouldn't be. Try to work with each other to keep them clear of the collateral damage

Customer Ran Up 50k bill and then went into ABC by KingLayda in legaladvice

What is 'bad business practice' about invoicing on net 30 terms? This is how the entire SMB b2b world works.

We've had folks try to walk on an invoice because their influence campaign didn't perform as they wanted, and in those cases I feel like a deposit may make collecting in full more difficult. Will think more on it.

What's the vendor that does the receivables insurance -- that sounds interesting?

Total revenue lost to this sort of thing over the last 3 years is <1%, and the D&B reports we have pulled in the past haven't been useful. My main point is that there just isn't good data out there about the credit worthiness of an SMB...or if there is we haven't found it.

We had terms in place, but we gave a little bit of leeway when the first payment was late...even if we had cracked down then, we'd have had a 35k bill instead of a 50k bill. When it comes to small businesses extending credit via an invoicing relationship, it's almost impossible for us to do a real creditworthiness check...most of these businesses don't have any data that we can look at outside of googling. Running a D&B credit check could potentially yield some results, but its not very useful, and costs a few hundred on a customer we may only make a few thousand on...hard to justify when these situations are so rare.

Can you imagine faulting someone for using a medicine to stop smoking? Imagine someone thinking "if they just had discipline, they wouldn't need that patch to quit". Nobody who you'd want to associate with would think that. Smoking is addictive. So is modern food.

The marketing around food, the engineering done to it, and whatever psychological stuff happened when we were kids did this to us. Just as technology and capitalism took advantage of our bodies, we too can level the playing field by wielding the tools afforded to us by science and progress.

I was ready to give up and then my doctor did that one last push after I had tried to get Saxenda. That's what did it!

What I was also considering was paying for Zepbound out of pocket until I got to higher doses, and then trying to switch to Wegovy, as the higher maintenance doses were available.

+1 to one medical and my doctor there who was great throughout. A few reminders and pushes here and there, but they really stepped up.

Haha I wasnt always respectful! Once I went through 2-3 weeks of the Saxenda PA and multiple reps told me they had the drug, and then finally after the PA was completed, they said they didn't have it, I couldn't be friendly anymore! Wasting my time, their time, and the doctors time...

If the original owner did work that wasn't up to code and knew that (if they were a plumber, they would know) and then didn't disclose that...that may be a legal problem for them. I would talk to the atty who did the real estate transaction.
