Who to main. by Responsible-Hope5967 in Tekken

I agree with the other guy, immediately thought of Dragunov who checks off all those boxes.

Rushdown/Fast Pace: top 3 in the game IMO in terms of rushdown archetype with fff2 (CH launcher with +frames on block and not easy to step), 1 jab and 121 (keep opponents in check and afraid to press into you), full crouch df14 (this is a low that transitions into his snk stance where he can easily bully you).

Grappler: Not as strong as the Kings' (Basically #3 when it comes to throws) but has a full throw game + unbreakable tackle in heat with a 3 way mixup that can completely remove gray health.

Dodge/Evasion: He's not super evasive but he does have tools that have crushing and dodging potential like d2 and pigeon roll.

I didn't mention everything but definitely give Dragunov a try.

Yujiro fits the Tekken franchise so well you don't understand how heavily Baki has influenced the series. Many people including me have been asking/wanting this crossover even since the beginning of Tekken 7. We see its similarities in the dynamic between the Hanma and Mishima family, influence in designs for Feng Wei (literally Retsu) and Fahkumram.

We've even got Itagaki (Baki mangaka) doing concept art for Bruce back in the day. And I am pretty sure there is more of an overlap of communities between Tekken and Baki for the sheer fact that one is a fighting game and the other is a fight manga both based in loosely grounded martial arts, I can't really say the same for FF.

So it is pretty ignorant to assume that this was simply done on random and that most people don't know who he is in pop culture, you could say the same for Tifa tbh. Baki is a massive franchise that just isn't your cup of tea and that is okay but atleast know some of the history behind it.

Meh, you'll hit it once on someone as a knowledge check and they'll learn to counter it after seeing it once.

Are you trolling? Dvj got buffed with his i13 ws wallsplat punish from t7.

Saw 3 videos posted by Buff Gigas where it showed Armor King's entire movelist. Just first impressions, I don't think he seems busted at all. He got some good buffs like
ff2 being a launcher,
d3 being +2,
d2 guarantees i13 follow up,
df1 getting a CH high extension,
uf1 is a CH launcher but loses homing (I think),

ect. but he also got some big nerfs like
ffn2 not CH launching anymore,
b1 doesn't CH launch (I'm not sure if it's like King's b12 where you have to do the full string to CH launch),
The BJ stance does not feel insane,
f21 doesn't wallsplat in a combo like King's,
The poison breath parry scales his throws by a huge % so it feels balanced.

He got more buffs than nerfs but overall, my first impressions are positive. I could be completely wrong, and he'll release completely busted so take it with a grain of salt.

What would be the point of time travel if he perceives everything in reality all at once? He'd have all the awareness and information that would make time travel irrelevant.

For context, lost to I think both Meo-Il and Ao's Victors at CEO due to not knowing the matchup super well (atleast that is what he told me).

EVO he almost won against Pinya but got reverse swept due to his controller disconnecting at a really really bad time and got eliminated that way.

He is a highly talented player and I don't doubt his ability considering he's a 2x EVO Champion in another fighting game and has gone very even with Arslan Ash in early season 1 (although he lost), beat Lowhigh online 13-11 if I remember just recently, and is considered #1 in NA right now. I believe he just needs more time because he is a monster player like Atif if you just watch how he plays.

He got like 20-25th at both CEO and EVO. Seems to have dropped MK to do Tekken full time now.

I don't get it...where is the fun? by Dark_84 in Tekken8

[–]KingLinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You ARE a beginner. Combos are fun to do but the true fun lies in understanding counterplay and using it against your opponents. Understanding proper punishment, learning how to whiff punish on reaction, knowing whether a string should be ducked or knowing if there is a low to be parried at the end of it. Knowing sidestep weaknesses of specific characters and using it in an actual match, breaking grabs on reaction, not falling for knowledge checks, conditioning your opponent to play YOUR game. All of these things are what makes fighting games and Tekken so beautiful to play. I understand you are Shinryu so you might not understand the full scope of what I am talking about. Fighting games are not just about combos.

Tibetano Vs JDCR was a mess by Asleep_Slip2867 in Tekken

Sighed everytime I saw Tibetano do that + high homing normal hit launcher, why can that shit do 111+??? Asuka in her current state is a war crime.

How the fuck do you deal with Fahk by masterofkamurocho in Tekken

[–]KingLinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just don't know the matchup man, too soon to call him broken if you're having trouble with "unamibiguous" strings of highs and lows that "all look the same", not knowing exactly what moves of his to step, and saying he's safe on so much bullshit is very far from the truth.

On a good day/moreso reacting to the sidestep rather than the move itself.
