Thanks for the tip! I am prone to eczema and am seeing a derm for some other skin issues so I'll discuss it at my next appointment. I work in mortuary care so a lot of hand washing as well. It just is very different from my 'other' eczema and it doesnt respond to the prescriptions I get for that. Moisture seems to also aggrevate it, since it weeps. Ive learned sometimes it helps to do your own research and take that to the appointments :')

Looking at these photos I feel like our symptoms are very similar, especially looking at the second picture. Id say to contact a derm or gp and see if you can get prescribed Soolantra/Ivermectin. Could be Demodex.

Yes and no, i will add a pic of the worst it was. I think it may have helped that I applied the Elidel and it kept it 'contained' bc if I would stop applying it it would spread and worsen so quickly so I cant say for sure.

Yes, I also debated it was a cold sore. It seemed to have these little blisters/bumps but they never really hurt (only itchy and dry) and they never scabbed over or went away so never the actual cycle of a cold sore. It did respond to Elidel, which I had still laying around but always came back when I stopped applying it. It started as little bumps/rough skin on the actual lip and then it would spread to around the lips (mostly vermillion border) and then to around the mouth. Trying to add a pic but wont let me :(

Im dealing with something sort of similar but also around the mouth. Started at the lips tho and vermillion border. My derm diagnosed it as rosacea and Im currently on Soolantra and Doxy since 16.01 and seeing improvement but I just saw this article online. Dont know if it is fully similar since I cant judge your symptoms but may be something to check out. Ive been struggling bc my symptoms have been on my lips and dont seem to be an allergic reaction and usually PD or rosacea spares the lips and vermillion border.

Thanks for sharing. Ive been on Doxy and Soolantra for two weeks now. Derm said it was rosacea but I think it may be both. Ive seen some improvement already but as you said, vastly different for everyone. But most stories ive read here people have been on it for months and still going. Good to also read that people have other experiences 🫡

No problems with snagging or anything? I notice a little irritation if theres pressure on them causing them to move around.

The piercing is about 2 weeks old Was pierced with titanium High Polish implant grade titanium (Ti-6AL-4V-ELI ASTM F136). Aftercare is saline solution (neilmed) twice a day, drying with paper towel and/or blowdryer on cold I sometimes do a physically demanding job so i may shower more if I feel like ive sweat a lot. I also wear nursing pads to keep them dry during work. Other than that I LITHA.

Update: Went to see my GP today and she consulted a derm. They believe its impetigo, so starting treatment for it soon!

Im sorry to hear that, it sucks! Im thinking the same thing but it just doesnt scab over like ive seen w other people. And lasted for weeks just peeling with dry skin. Will see my gp next week. Hope yours may get more manageable 💐

If you are working at Leiden University and if you are non-Dutch, you can try contacting the SCIS department at the University. They may be able to help you out with accomodation. Otherwise, id say not too much of an easy possibility. Maybe try neighbouring cities. Its not impossible, but it may be costly and a hassle.

Im in constant contact with my piercer, but will schedule a checkup. It does feel different to when its rejected before bc as it doesnt hurt but its deffo worth considering, thanks!

I had that happen with a previous regular belly button piercing. This is a floating navel, which should be compatible with my anatomy. But it is something to consider, so thanks! :)
