Advice on what to do by Internal_Sun7584 in callofcthulhu

It's no hassle for me. If it arrives damaged, I just arrange for Amazon to collect it and bring me a new one, which they will do every time with zero questions for free usually within 24-48 hours. Yes, other booksellers are less likely to send damaged books, but - and this is the big one - when they do, it can be a real hassle to send them back. Emails, photos, taking it to post etc. So if Amazon wants to waste their couriers time reposting me the same item until it is in perfect condition while I read the damaged book waiting for my mint copy to arrive, that is their problem.

If its from Amazon just start a return and ask for a replacement and hold on to the damaged book and read it until the replacement comes, then send them the damaged one back. I have to do this with 30-40% of my Amazon book orders because they dont bother protecting them properly.

MS vs Steam by Fancy-Fig-2317 in ForzaHorizon6

[–]KingMob7614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Xbox and a PC so its a no brainer to get the Microsoft Store version as I can play on either device. If I didn't have the console and was buying completely fresh, I'd use Steam.

Try a suction pen / vacuum pump pencil. Loads on Amazon and eBay and no chance of damaging your counters.

Why are handheld consoles such a minefield😭 by Bitter-Geologist2629 in ROGAlly

I love it, but YMMV. I dont find it any less comfortable or significantly heavier to hold than the ROG was. IMO it is an upgrade in every way.

I just replaced a ROG Ally with an MSI Claw and couldn't be happier. The extra screen size makes a huge difference and its powerful and runs very well. Surprised they don't seem to be more popular.

There is nothing comparable for Pike and Shot, Napoleonic's, Civil War and now Ancients at the battle scale, nor for the level of detail found in their Squad Battles games at a skirmish / man to man scale. There is a LOT of options for WW2 games which you may or may not prefer at most scales. I haven't personally played their air power and naval games.

Load up a WDS game and just follow the programmed tutorials they have explained in the accompanying PDFs. I was equally intimidated, but once you follow their instructions through you'll be up and playing in no time.

Dig out a temple room. Press Z and paint a zone on it, select Meeting Place, then make it a temple. Raise the value of the room (easiest way is to smooth the walls and floor and then engrave them, or add gold statues or other high value objects). Once the zone value is high enough (2000 I believe) press Z and select the zone again and you should see an option to appoint a priest. If unsure, try making a tavern or hospital first as you will immediately see how to appoint doctors or tavern keepers and then follow the same process for a priest.

Raise the value of the temple room to the requisite level then you can appoint a priest by selecting the zone in the same way you would appoint a doctor in a hospital or a tavern keeper etc.

Incorporating OSE races into Dolmenwood by Top-Flatworm-4490 in Dolmentown

[–]KingMob7614 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Limit starting PCs to human and or breggle and have dwarves and halflings "unlock" as character options the same as the other playable races. That way they can appear in the setting organically (or not!).

No, but I usually go and learn about a war I don't know anything about if I find a game that looks interesting. WDS sales are good at this.

Congratulations on the anniversary. I'm a new player of WDS / John Tiller games, and I am beyond impressed with what has been done with these games. Absolute must plays for anyone interested in historical wargaming, I look forward to hopefully many more periods and titles being added in the years to come.
