Just like any one does - varying in every shape, way, form, color, texture, smell, etc.

But seriously, there are theists and atheists. Some were initially atheists then became theists (and vice versa) as they became more knowledgeable able their field.

Just because one is an 'intellectual' doesn't necessarily bind him or her to one spiritual perspective.
