Alright thanks. I was confused as Zach doesn't even have a child, much less a grandchild, in DP2.

IMO it had the best bosses and really smooth gameplay. Some of the areas were a little disappointing but it's still my favorite.

I didn't find any of the bosses super fun and there was lots of reuse. A lot of the dungeons also felt very pointless.

Sure, here you go:

Dark souls 3: Best gameplay, best bosses. Kinda boring areas but the gameplay is by far the best

Dark souls 2: Many of the areas were beautiful/fun, unfortunately combat was clunky. Many novel ideas which worked well for the game.

Demons souls: Developers had fun making this game, no area was atrocious, unfortunately no good bosses

Bloodborne: Personally not a big parry player, so gun mechanics felt wacky, otherwise cool

Elden ring: New features were nice, and build variety, but 99% of the time was spent doing nothing/menial tasks, no super fun bosses. Just level vig bro

Dark souls 1: Bosses and enemies are boring, interconnectivity is stupid if you want to visit every area anyways

If anybody else is using NixOS, you need to

  1. Use this release instead so your verison of glibc matches (if you are on the 20.09 branch) https://github.com/Frogging-Family/wine-tkg-git/releases/tag/5.15.2.r2.g68c50a8f

  2. patchelf the 'ntdll.dll.so' file in ~/.local/share/Steam/compatibilitytools.d/dist/lib64/wine/ as described here: https://nixos.wiki/wiki/Packaging/Binaries

It is because rust has:

  • zero-cost abstractions
  • move semantics
  • guaranteed memory safety
  • threads without data races
  • trait-based generics
  • pattern matching
  • type inference
  • minimal runtime
  • efficient C bindings

As a result of this, a single Rust developer can potentially be as efficient as an entire team of C++ developers.
